With Mercury retrograde finally behind us, the skies are clearing—what better time to map out your travel plans for the season? Astrologer Kimberly Dewhirst charts your next escape, matching each sun sign with a destination written in the stars

The celestial bodies have always influenced our lives in mysterious ways—from our personalities to our relationships. But have you considered how your zodiac sign might shape your perfect getaway? The ancient practice of consulting the stars before embarking on a journey dates back millennia—a tradition modern travellers are now rediscovering.

And with Mercury retrograde finally wrapping up this April—a period known for travel hiccups, mixed signals and miscommunications—the cosmic fog is beginning to lift. With the Easter break just around the corner, clarity is back on the cards, and your next escape might just be written in the stars.

While conventional travel guides offer practical recommendations, astrological travel mapping offers something a little more nuanced: destinations that align with your inherent cosmic blueprint. Tatler spoke with Tokyo-based astrologer Kimberly Dewhirst (also known as astrologer.kimberly on Instagram) to decode the skies and reveal where each zodiac sign should set their sights. Here’s where the stars might lead you in 2025.

Aries: Rediscover your roots

Aries are known for their bold, risk-taking spirit, but this year, we suggest trading those skydiving adventures for something a little closer to home—literally. Astrologer Kimberly Dewhirst notes that “Aries might want to revisit their homeland.” Those born under this fiery sign may find fulfilment in destinations where exploration meets a sense of legacy. As Dewhirst suggests, Aries should “go back to their roots, to nourish and reconnect with family.”

For Aries living far from home, summer is the perfect time to revisit familiar places and reconnect with loved ones. Rediscovering childhood haunts and embracing family ties could be especially meaningful this year. The stars are hinting that these moments won’t last forever—this is the time to hold them close.

Taurus: Prioritise collective indulgence

The sensual Bull loves a good indulgence, but 2025 is all about sharing the fun. “They need to go on holiday with their kindred spirits, their siblings or people who share their core values,” says Dewhirst.

This cosmic guidance doesn’t strip Taurus of their love for comfort—it enhances it with meaningful connections. Known for their well-ordered travel plans, Taurus tends to relax once they arrive, striking a balance between structure and spontaneity. The ideal travel companion, they’ll have every detail sorted while leaving room for a serendipitous detour.

For a getaway that suits their earthy sensibilities, Taurus should round up their favourite people and head to Provence. Rolling fields, leisurely vineyard lunches and bustling village markets offer that perfect mix of charm and indulgence. If a long-haul flight to Europe feels like too much effort, Singapore is a worthy alternative. With world-class dining to please their refined palates and lush parks for a leisurely post-lunch stroll, it ticks all the right boxes.

Gemini: Work and wonder

“It’s actually not a time for Gemini to go on holiday. They’re far better off doing a working holiday,” says the astrologer. For Gemini, it might not be the right moment to fully switch off, but that doesn’t mean a productive getaway is out of reach.

For the ever-curious Twins, it’s less about unplugging and more about switching up the scenery. This year, seek destinations with sleek co-working spaces, fast Wi-Fi, and what Dewhirst calls “a vacation that focuses on your career.”

Lucky for you, Gemini, Asia is the perfect playground for quick getaways. Picture working by the pool at a hotel in Bangkok or checking emails while sipping a cocktail with your feet in the white sands of Bali. After all, the stars never said you didn’t deserve that IG-worthy beach shot this summer.

Cancer: Time for a trip of a lifetime

Cancer, your sign is entering a unique phase this year. Jupiter’s influence is creating the perfect conditions for a transformative journey. Dewhirst explains, “Cancers are benefiting from an alignment marking the beginning of a 12-year cycle—this is an absolutely incredible time for Cancer to take the trip of a lifetime.”

For those born under this water sign, such an alignment for meaningful travel is rare. If you’ve dreamt of adventures but never had the courage to pack your bag and set off on your first road trip, or if you’ve been waiting for the right sign to take the plunge, that sign has arrived.

Nature lovers should consider a trip to Java, Indonesia or Peru, where hiking and nature-filled days await. If you’re more of a city person, try something new—sign up for a class while you are abroad. Think summer fashion school in France or cooking classes in Italy. This year, the world is yours.

Leo: From spotlight to sanctuary

Leos are the ones you can’t miss in a crowd—their presence is made for lively dance floors and grand social settings. “Leos are the ones you’ll spot on a beach in Ibiza, donning big hats and beautiful sunglasses,” shares astrologer Dewhirst.

However, 2025 is shaking up those hot girl summer dreams. “It’s a time for major escapism,” says Dewhirst, pointing to the shift in pace that will influence Leos this year. Your next holiday is calling for a slower rhythm, one that invites a more reflective exploration—something quite different from the high-energy trips you usually seek.

You could embrace this challenge by joining an Indian ashram or a serene Turkish wellness retreat—places designed for disconnecting and restoring balance.

Virgo: Embrace collective discovery

Certainly the most methodical sign, Virgos are the ultimate planners when it comes to travel. Expect detailed itineraries, research-backed decisions and even carefully thought-out plans for when to grab a snack during your visit.

But this year, your next trip is all about embracing change. Astrologer Dewhirst observes that Virgos “want to go on a group holiday, to be part of a community, to be part of a crowd”—a notable shift from their usual solitary, precision-driven adventures.

Virgos are encouraged to explore the balance between individual focus and collective energy, stepping outside their comfort zone to embrace the power of group dynamics.

When it comes to group travel, there are plenty of options to satisfy your methodical nature while embracing a more social experience. Consider joining an architectural tour in the Middle East with fellow design enthusiasts or a cultural immersion trip in Japan, where you can explore ancient temples and traditional tea ceremonies with like-minded people.

Libra: Shine your brightest

Libras, the stars are giving you a hall pass to focus on yourself this year—no more playing referee. Usually the masters of social harmony, it’s time to turn the spotlight inward and prioritise personal growth over keeping everyone else happy.

“It’s actually a really good time for their visibility,” says Dewhirst, pointing to a rare moment where Libras can put themselves first. “They would want to go on a holiday where they can be seen by others,” she adds—so think trips that let you step out and stand out.

This year, Seoul sets the stage. Refresh your look with a sleek haircut, treat yourself to a K-beauty glow-up and book a photoshoot at the city’s temples. The stars are aligned for a little self-celebration, and there’s no better time to lean into it.

Scorpio: Transformative travel depths

Scorpios, 2025 is your year to dive deeper. The next holiday isn’t about breezy getaways—it’s about finding destinations that match your intensity and curiosity. “This is a time of real growth,” says astrologer Dewhirst, hinting at travels that push you to explore both the world and yourself.

Forget the tourist traps—you’re better suited to places with stories to uncover. Hike through the remote monasteries of Nepal, where mountain air and ancient rituals offer a rare kind of stillness. For something wilder, Namibia’s otherworldly landscapes—think towering dunes and starlit deserts—invite a sense of solitude and wonder.

Sagittarius: Bonds across borders

Sagittarius, the eternal wanderer, 2025 is switching things up. While you’re usually chasing the next big adventure, this year is all about deepening connections. “Sagittarians will be drawn to fortifying relationships and creating meaningful moments with significant others,” says astrologer Dewhirst.

Instead of solo escapes, think sun-drenched getaways made for two. The Greek islands tick all the right boxes—secret coves, endless mezze, and sunset strolls that practically beg for a plus-one. It’s the perfect excuse to slow down, savour the moment, and realise that the most memorable experiences come from the people you’re with.

Capricorn: Indulge in cultural immersion

Capricorn, you’re known for your meticulously planned trips, but 2025 is inviting you to loosen that iron grip just a little. This year is all about striking a balance between your disciplined nature and embracing moments of beautiful unpredictability. It’s a time for meaningful connections, and while it might take you a while to warm up to people, travel has a way of creating relationships that feel different when they’re forged in foreign lands. “Capricorns are drawn to experiencing something new and possibly learning from the people they meet,” says astrologer Dewhirst.

For a sign that usually approaches holidays like a well-structured project, the trick is finding a destination that offers both control and a dash of chaos. Morocco one of the destination to strike that balance, allowing you to wander through the ancient medinas, taking in the intricately laid tiles, while letting the rhythm of the souks sweep you along.

Aquarius: Fitness-forward escapes

The free-spirited Aquarius, always attuned to their own cosmic rhythm, is in for a surprising shift in 2025—an intense focus on physical well-being that nurtures both body and mind. “A health and fitness holiday,” recommends Dewhirst for those born between January 20 and February 18.

Think destinations where you can prioritise your health without sacrificing the fun we all crave when we travel. If you’ve never explored the sunny coast of the United States, Miami should be your next stop. The city hums with energy, offering world-class fitness facilities, healthy dining spots, and beach boot camps where you can flex your muscles—and your networking skills—between burpees.

Pisces: Epic dreams, savvy budgets

The dreamy Pisces are in for what might be the most indulgent travel forecast of 2025—paradise destinations, with one small, yet practical caveat that may feel a little out of character for these escapist souls. “Pisces gets the best holiday of all,” says Dewhirst, before adding, “But they also have to be budget-conscious.” A gentle reminder that even the most free-spirited dreamers have to mind their wallets.

For Pisces in Asia, the stars are shining bright. There are plenty of destinations that offer breathtaking beauty without draining your bank account. Rather than surrendering completely to the tides of spontaneity, a little planning goes a long way—think booking during the shoulder season or opting for locally owned stays. Rediscover Koh Rong in Cambodia or head to El Nido in the Philippines, where the allure of paradise comes without the hefty price tag.
