Planning on going to Baguio this weekend? Travel like a local in these places you probably haven't visited:
Being a tropical country, Philippine weather can be incredibly unpredictable. There are days when the rain is just nonstop but most of the time, it’s the heat of sunny days that drives people to travel to cooler places. When one thinks of a destination with a colder climate and is just a few hours from the Metro, Baguio City immediately comes to mind.
Deemed as the "Summer Capital of the Philippines", Baguio City or the "City of Pines" has always been the go-to destination of many tourists who want an escape from the searing heat and chaos of Metro Manila. Most of us might have taken a stroll in Burnham Park, basked in the scenic views of the mountains at the Mines View Park, or visited The Mansion to learn about Cordilleran culture a lot of times but that’s not all Baguio has to offer. Scroll through to check out what other places you can add to your itinerary:
Tam-awan Village
The Cordillera region is one of the most culturally rich places in the Philippines. The indigenous people have successfully preserved their culture until today as reflected in Tam-awan Village, a cultural village in Pinsao Proper that uniquely blends indigenous aesthetics and exquisite Cordilleran craftsmanship. The Village now has seven Ifugao huts and two Kalinga houses reconstructed to let tourists experience what it's like in a traditional Cordillera village.
Tam-awan Village is located at 366-C Pinsao Proper, Baguio City. For more inquiries, contact 074.446.2949.
