The illustrious hotel returns to its roots this November, boasting panoramic harbour views and world-class amenities, and ready to redefine luxury on the city’s waterfront

Hong Kong’s iconic Victoria Harbour, with its unrivalled skyline and buzzing waterfront, welcomes back an old friend this November: Regent Hong Kong.

After a two-decade hiatus, the storied hotel makes its grand re-entrance, returning to its Regent heritage and promising Hongkongers a new, ultra-luxurious retreat.

For those new to its history, the hotel stood as the crown jewel of the Regent brand from 1980 to 2001 before becoming the InterContinental Hong Kong. In 2020, it paused operations for an extensive two-year transformation, infusing it with fresh interiors, enhanced amenities and pristine architectural elements. The hotel is once again warmly welcoming guests—now back to its previous incarnation as the illustrious Regent Hong Kong.

What awaits guests at the reimagined Regent? As they enter, an ambience of understated luxury and tranquillity permeates the space, making it feel more like an urban oasis than the business hub it formerly leant towards. This metamorphosis into a sanctuary of relaxation and rejuvenation is the handiwork of Hong Kong-native designer Chi Wing Lo. He artfully crafted each of the hotel’s 497 rooms, including 129 suites, transforming every space into what he calls a “personal haven”.

Prominent materials include natural oak and granite, complemented by a palette of soothing warm neutrals and plush materials like woollen carpets. Bathroom oases boast custom bathtubs with stone taps and separate immersive showers, alongside double washbasins and luxury self-care products by Perricone MD. Selected guest rooms have striking moongate doorways, evoking the elegance of a classical Chinese garden.

Despite the Regent’s sanctuary-like atmosphere, make no mistake: it remains in the epicentre of Hong Kong life, just moments away from premier attractions such as K11 Musea and the Hong Kong Museum of Art. The hotel’s recent transformation also extends to its facilities and dining options, including the return of the renowned Japanese restaurant Nobu, and the introduction of five other distinguished dining venues: the two-Michelin-starred Lai Ching Heen, The Steak House, Harbourside, The Lobby Lounge and the soon-to-open Qura, an indulgent destination bar with bespoke cocktails and a curated selection of cigars.

For those craving an elevated level of privacy and exclusivity, the Regent Club offers an intimate residential retreat with unparalleled culinary, beverage and wellness selections. Guests can also rejuvenate at the stunning Pool Terrace with a large outdoor swimming pool and infinity spa pools, which boast three temperature zones and peerless harbour views, or energise themselves in the 24-hour fitness centre, outfitted with state-of-the-art Technogym equipment.

Regent Hong Kong’s return captures the city’s modern essence and allure while paying tribute to its storied past. The hotel is an urban haven and dining destination on the harbour’s edge, where guests can relax and recharge with immersive discoveries, awe-inspiring moments and personalised service.
