The luxury hotel group brings Alpine sophistication to the French Alps with the opening of Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin
When Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin opens its carved wooden doors in December 2025, it will mark a defining moment for luxury winter travel in the French Alps. Perched within the exclusive Jardin Alpin enclave of Courchevel 1850, this mountain retreat represents Rosewood’s first foray into winter resorts and its second property in mainland France. Here, the glamour of Courchevel’s 1960s golden age meets contemporary alpine sophistication, creating a French Alps destination where adventure, elegance and intimacy converge.

A contemporary mountain sanctuary

Acclaimed French designer Tristan Auer has reimagined what an alpine chalet can be. Instead of a traditional hotel, he conceived a private mountain mansion, where natural timber and stone are elevated by copper accents and mirrored surfaces. The effect is both warm and cinematic—fireplaces flicker, terraces frame snow-dusted peaks and every space feels alive with light and texture.
The design’s crown jewel is an installation by Icelandic-Danish artist Olafur Eliasson. Titled Two harmonious yet different crystals sharing views and reflection, the work features crystalline structures suspended amid mirrored walls and ceilings, creating geometric forms that appear to float into infinity.

The resort comprises 51 rooms and suites, including three signature houses that redefine alpine luxury. Each opens to panoramic terraces overlooking Les Trois Vallées, the world’s largest ski area.
The Jardin Alpin Apartment stands as the property’s showpiece: a grand four-bedroom residence with high ceilings, a private lift, cinema room and professional kitchen. With expansive indoor and outdoor dining areas overlooking La Saulire’s peak, it’s designed for unforgettable gatherings after exhilarating days on the piste.
