With its 'hotel-within-a-hotel' concept on its exclusive Skyline floor, you'll be well provided for, even if you don't step out of the hotel during your stay.
A fairly new hotel that opened in September 2014, One Farrer Hotel is located near the bustling Little India and Chinatown areas and close to all conveniences possible.
A member of Preferred Hotels and Resorts, the hotel is at the centre of a new development in the area – so new that you may have a little trouble finding the property on Farrer Park Station Road (look out for a structure of a big, shiny green apple outside the hotel’s main entrance).

The hotel has 3 concepts within the property – Urban Hotel, Loft Apartments, and Skyline Hotel & Sky Villas. Travellers whizzing in and out of the city may find the Urban Hotel most appealing while longer stays would fit the Loft Apartments. For the sophisticated traveller, the Skyline Hotel is the perfect fit.
We had the pleasure of staying in a Skyline room and left with a mental note to return. Read on to find out why.
Location: conveniently above an MRT station
With the convenience of being directly above the Farrer Park MRT station, getting to Orchard Road for a shopping fix is a piece of cake. We also particularly like the distinct heritage flavour in the surrounding Little India area. Adjacent to the hotel, City Square Mall is an easy walk away for shopping and dining options.
Room: spacious, luxurious and homely
We stayed on the Skyline level (the hotel’s club level) on the 18th level in a spacious studio room with a generously sized bathroom. Large windows frame the Singapore skyline – an especially enchanting sight at any time of the day.

The bed is luxuriously plush and if you’re up for some pillow therapy, take advantage of the ‘pillow menu’ and order yourself a lavender-infused or charcoal pillow.
The bathroom is designed with sophistication in mind; think marbled walls, tempered glass, rain shower and a large bathtub. A full range of amenities from luxury Spanish skincare brand Natura Bisse is also thoughtfully provided.
For the working professional, the workstation is fitted with a large desk, Herman Miller chairs for support, universal AC power outlets and complimentary printing services upon request mean it’s still business as usual even when you’re away.
The hotel is tastefully filled with beautiful artwork and sculptures, with some 500 original pieces by artists from Singapore and Asia adorning the space throughout the property.
Skyline privileges: a hotel-within-a-hotel
Being on the exclusive Skyline level comes with a host of privileges that elevates the stay to exceptionally comfortable levels.
Five complimentary light meals are provided daily in the Skyline lounge
One Farrer’s ‘hotel within a hotel’ concept for its Skyline Hotel gives it a self-contained feel. It’s rare to find a hotel that has anticipated so much of a traveller’s needs to this extent; if we had opted not to step out of the hotel at all, our needs would still be thoughtfully taken care of.
To stay active, the gym and pool are open around the clock and overlook grand views of the Lion City. Both facilities are exclusive to Skyline guests.

In the lounge, five light meals are provided daily – a big convenience if a day of meetings are on the agenda. Complimentary pressing of 3 pieces a day is also provided.
Service is noticeably warm and genuine, with floor managers on duty at any given time striking up pleasantries to ensure that everything is going well. The check-in and check-out process is done smoothly and efficiently on level 18 at the music lounge instead of at the general reception area in the ground lobby.
One Farrer Hotel & Spa is located at 1 Farrer Park Station Road, Singapore 217562.
