1. Opulence on Tracks
Back in the days of the original Orient Express, individuals could purchase their own carriage, and task designers with transforming them into beautiful and opulent spaces. The Grand Suites of the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express are a re-imagining of this tradition, creating new levels of luxury accommodation aboard the historic train.
Named after the romantic cities which the train travels to—Paris, Venice and Istanbul—each suite takes up an entire carriage. Its interior décor reflects the spirit of each city, while staying true to the original 1920s art deco design. Expert artisans were sought out to create various cabin details, from the handblown light fixtures to complex marquetry.
Apart from plush double beds and marble en-suite showers, guests will enjoy private transfers to and from the train, and a personal cabin steward to tend to all their on-board services, including free-flowing champagne and private dining.
