Mandarin Oriental has announced its expansion into Malaysia with the upcoming rebranding of a distinguished resort and private residences on Desaru Coast. The property joins the Mandarin Oriental portfolio this month, ahead of a full rebranding in January 2026 as Mandarin Oriental Desaru Coast.

This development follows the recent transition in management at the resort, with operations under the previous brand concluding on May 1, as noted on the resort’s official website

The partnership between Mandarin Oriental and Desaru Coast is seen as a significant milestone by local authorities. In a press statement, Chief Minister of Johor, Dato' Onn Hafiz Ghazi shares, “Mandarin Oriental has created and defined some of the world’s most renowned properties and destinations across the world, and this, being their choice for their second property in Malaysia, is a testament to Johor’s immense potential.”
