The new Rolling Luggage collection is available at Louis Vuitton boutiques in Marina Bay Sands, Ngee Ann City and Ion Orchard.

French luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton has partnered industrial designer Marc Newson to roll out a new luggage collection. Newson, who has been named as Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World and dubbed as one of the most influential designers of his generation, is an award-winning multi-disciplinary designer whose works span from furniture to fashion.

“I’m obsessive about packing everything into a bag of a certain size,” explains Newson. “Which is why it was so important for me to design a product that could tick all of those boxes and be the kind of the perfect piece of luggage for a person like me, that travels and won’t travel with anything more than is absolutely necessary.”

The new Rolling Luggage collection boasts a range of stylish trunks that are available in two sizes to suit different travel durations. The Mini 50 (50 x 35 x 20 cm) is great for a short two-day work trip whereas the larger cabin-friendly option Cabin 55 (55 x 39 x 21 cm) is your go-to for longer vacations.

These new designs also feature three innovations that promise to meet the modern travellers’ needs. Thanks to the exterior which is made from an ultra-thin titanium layer bonded to the polypropylene composite shell, the lightweight case makes it easy to carry the luggage and minimises the impact of shocks. The fully extendable anodised aluminium cane has been moved to outside the trunk, making way for a completely flat and less bumpy interior so there’s more more packing space for users. The three-digit combination zip-pull lock system allows an easy 180-degree opening with a single and smooth pull.

Offering a variety of choices, the trunks are available in classic Louis Vuitton Monogram and Damier canvases as well as Taiga and Epi leathers. A check-in sized addition will be included to complete the collection in 2017.
