The list features 1,000 hotels from over 200 countries. Among them are Venice’s Hotel Cipriani, Singapore’s Raffles Singapore and Hong Kong’s Mandarin Oriental
French company La Liste has released its inaugural World’s Best Hotels list with Venice’s Hotel Cipriani taking the coveted number one spot with an impressive score of 99.75 out of 100.
Known for its annual selection of the World’s Best Restaurants, La Liste’s latest list uses a comprehensive scoring system, amalgamating customer ratings from various booking websites, travel magazine reviews and travel guides. According to its website, La Liste selected over 5,000 hotels across 200 countries to be reviewed.

La Liste’s managing director, Hélène Pietrini shares: “We are proud to launch La Liste Hotels in anticipation of the Summer 2023 season; it is both a truly objective resource for travelers wanting up-to-date information on the luxury market before booking their next adventure, and a celebration of our outstanding hospitality community.”
The inaugural list sees the US dominating with the most hotels overall. In second place is Chicago’s The Peninsula Chicago tied with Mexico’s Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal and France’s Cheval Blanc St-Barth.
Closer to home, Hong Kong’s Mandarin Oriental is in fourth place while Raffles Singapore is ranked number five.
The legendary Hotel Cipriani is known for its storied history and has solidified its place among elite establishments across the globe. The 94-room Venetian sanctuary offers stunning vistas of the Doge’s Palace, the Church of St Giogio and the islands beyond. The hotel’s signature suites overlook the lagoon and offer a private balcony, spacious lounge area, marble bathrooms and more. The luxurious hotel is complete Michelin-starred gastronomy, the city’s only Olympic-sized swimming pool and more.

Over the years, the legendary hotel has also hosted multiple celebrities, royals and dignitaries, including George Clooney, Anne Hathaway and Princess Diana, to name a few.
