Journalist, photographer and filmmaker Laurel Chor certainly doesn't lack a sense of adventure. She's lived in the Central African Republic to work on gorilla conservation and has worked on a documentary about the illegal ivory trade in the Democratic Republic of Congo. In 2013, she was appointed an ambassador for the Jane Goodall's Hong Kong branch of her eponymous institute. Laurel shares with us her favourite travel memories, her tips for jet lag and more:

Last trip?

Work trip to Indonesia, where I reported on the earthquake and tsunami in Palu.

Next trip?

What do you love the most about travelling?

Most memorable travel experience?

Most recently, taking a road trip to drive around Sicily. It was the most romantic trip of my life.

And the worst?

Probably when I was deported from Brazil as a teenager because I had misread my visa.

Three things you always travel with?

Camera, book, allergy pills.

What do you normally read on the plane?

The Economist because that's one of the few times I'm bored enough I'll actually read it.

Favourite travel companion?

My boyfriend. We both like to stay outdoors as much as possible when we travel.

Aisle or window seat?

Window: better for sleeping, and sleep is important!

Favourite travel app?

My Cathay Pacific app, so that I can obsessively check my miles and club points.
