Set within the One Bangkok district, The Ritz-Carlton Bangkok celebrates the city’s rich history through thoughtful designs integrating local influences and immersive experiences that bring Thai traditions to life
Bangkok’s hotel scene is thriving, and adding to its growing list of properties is The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok. Opened in December 2024, the 260-key hotel has found a home within the new One Bangkok district, a world-class business destination in the heart of Bangkok.
The latest property is inspired by the concept of “Meeting of Two Civilisations”, blending old and new. Honouring its past, the property is adorned with original artwork and black-and-white photographs encapsulating what the area was like back in the 1800s. A nod to its present and future, the hotel reflects the Thai capital’s dynamic culture through a refined lens, welcoming guests to a restorative and contemporary oasis.
When Tatler Singapore was invited to stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok for a few nights, we couldn’t turn it down—after all, it was one of the most anticipated hotel openings in the Thai capital in 2024.

First Impressions

Above The lobby
Upon my arrival at the hotel, I was quickly whisked up to the lobby. As the elevator doors opened, I first noticed a stunning glass sculpture. Titled Re/Leaf:2024, the gorgeous lily pond piece by Nathakorn Kanitvaranum features 19 blown glass flowers that beautifully reflect the light at every hour of the day. I was told that these glass creations had been arranged to show the different stages of the lily flower, symbolising rebirth. This is one of the many art installations found around the property, many of which are by local artists.
Designed by Thailand’s premier interior design studio PIA, the lobby captures the past, present and future legacy of the brand. From the marble-clad black and white flooring to its plush seating and large window arches that bring natural light in, the property’s interiors provide a sense of timeless sophistication.
Do Not Disturb

Above The property features spacious rooms and suites
The Ritz Carlton is known and loved for its spacious rooms and suites, and Marriott International’s latest property lives up to this statement. I was pampered with its elegant Club King room which spans 50 sqm and decked in local art pieces. Floor-to-ceiling windows complete the space, overlooking beautiful views of the city and the lush Lumpini Park. While some rooms feature a private balcony, mine was fitted with a window-width day bed—perfect for watching the world go by in the comfort of the air-conditioned room.
Its marble-clad bathroom is equally impressive. On top of double vanities, and a separate bathtub and shower, the bathroom is complete with luxurious amenities including a Dyson hairdryer and tools, and bath products from Diptyque’s Philosykos collection.

The Extras

Above The property's Terrace overlooks Lumpini park and the city
After a day of travel, I couldn’t help but seek out the spa for a relaxing session. I was treated to a 60-minute session that helped release tight muscles and knots. The experience began with a consultation, where I was invited to share more about my lifestyle and problem areas. My masseuse relaxed my stiff areas through various deep movements and stretches. Along with classic body and facial treatments, the spa offers unique experiences too. For one, the Cello Concerto is a body massage that’s synchronised with live melodies played by a cellist.
The hotel also has various immersive experiences that bring local traditions to life. The Elemental Ensemble ceremony at the Terrace at sunset is inspired by the Klong Yao (long drum) ritual. Performed by the hotel’s employees, the ceremony celebrates the transition from day to night with rhythmic drumming and dance.
Bespoke experiences are also available. The hotel’s general manager Tina Liu tells me: “We are committed to delivering The Ritz-Carlton’s signature luxury while ensuring guests have a deep connection to the local culture. By curating bespoke experiences that are inspired by Thailand’s heritage, we offer guests an authentic yet elevated encounter.” These experiences range from tours of the One Bangkok Art Loop to tai chi sessions overlooking the expansive park.
Food & Drink

You won’t go hungry during your stay here.
On top of One Bangkok being mere steps away from the property, offering a myriad of dining options, the property features an all-day international restaurant alongside award-winning modern French chef David Toutain’s latest concept Duet by David Toutain—the latter being one I was most excited for.
Set within a beautiful glasshouse, Duet by David Toutain serves up modern French fare inspired by the duality of food and nature. Here, dishes are inspired by the seasons’ prime ingredients. Throughout the intimate eight-course dinner, the journey is accompanied by storytelling cards that highlight the characteristics of an ingredient in each dish. For example, tamarind takes centre stage with its main course. Its sweet and tangy profile complements the rich and robust flavours of Brittany pigeon. Vibrant flavours are harmoniously brought together with earthy turnips and fruity notes of mulberry. Both alcoholic and zero-proof pairings are available.

With the hotel’s bar Caleo located next to Duet, of course, I had to check it out. The luxurious lounge bar invites guests to savour tantalising libations. Its cocktail line-up is extensive, to say the least, with the Elephant Walk being a crowd favourite. The creamy and aromatic concoction comprises a blend of Blanco Tequila, dark rum, fenugreek, Palo Santo, coconut milk and mango. For something more spirit-forward, Lights in the Fog is a mix of blended and islay scotch, Pommeau de Normandie, Oloroso sherry, cinnamon, absinthe and aromatic bitters. The result is a warm and nutty concoction perfect for a nightcap.

The Ritz-Carlton Bangkok is a great base for exploring the city. After all, the property is conveniently located within One Bangkok district. Explore the district and find malls including Parade and The Storeys which boast a plethora of retail and lifestyle offerings. What’s more, the hotel is also set to complete a connecting bridge to the malls by the end of 2026. Some of the city’s biggest malls such as Centralworld, Siam Paragon and MBK Center are also just a short walk (or a quick tuk-tuk ride) away.
While here, you’ll also want to check out Lumpini Park. Spanning 58 hectares, this park also houses the city’s first public library and dance hall. Take a stroll along the park or explore the space on a swan-shaped paddle boat.
