Take a look inside Audemars Piguet Hotel des Horlogers, the exquisite new hotel by the luxury Swiss watchmaker that's set to open in 2020
Through an innovative partnership with Danish design team Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), luxury watch brand Audemars Piguet will be bringing the slope to skiers in their latest venture.
Nestled in the idyllic slopes of Western Switzerland’s Vallée de Joux—where the company was founded by Jules Louis Audemars and Edward Auguste Piguet in 1875—Audemars Piguet is looking to showcase its rich heritage through its Maison Des Foundateurs (House of Founders) project, a collection of beautifully designed exhibition spaces and the brand’s first ever hotel.
The first thing you will notice about the Audemars Piguet Hotel des Horlogers is the zigzagging roof, which will have skiers leisurely sweeping down it come 2020, when the property is scheduled to open. The rooftop, which leads straight onto the foot of the slopes and into any of the area’s nearby trails, is also a walkable path to the hotel’s amenities for snow enthusiasts looking to “ski lodge and chill”.

Comprised of five linear slabs angled upward from the ground, the hotel structure becomes a seamlessly connected terrace. Under the soon-to-be-iconic roof, the 70,000 square-foot hotel will house a bar, spa, two restaurants, conference centre and 50 guest rooms with scenic valley views, all adjoined by one continuous hall. And judging by drawings of the hotel in the winter, the said rooftop will be absolutely gorgeous in the summer.
