The travel company is aiming to bring world-renowned festive experiences into your living room just in time for summer
Starting this week, Airbnb will be expanding on its collection of Online Experiences—a inventive initiative the brand launched earlier this year in response to the travel bans across the globe due to COVID-19.
The new lineup of Online Experiences will “satisfy travelers’ wanderlust this summer season” while bringing “transformative virtual Experiences to thousands of guests” thanks to collaborations with the Olympics, Paralympics, notable Broadway Shows, IGLTA for Pride Week and more—all of which will be hosted right on the Airbnb platform.
“Through Online Experiences, guests can unlock unprecedented access to inspiring hosts across the world, connect with new people, and travel virtually, all from the comfort of their own living room.” the brand said in a press release on its website.
The new, revamped Online Experiences will give guests a never-before-seen-look into some of the world’s most exciting summer events while combating a summertime wanderlust that will likely be felt globally.
For example, while the 2020 Summer Olympics may have been moved to next year in response to the pandemic, Airbnb guests will still have the chance to learn from world-renowned Olympians and Paralympians through the Celebrate the Olympic Spirit with All-Star Athletes experience taking place online next month.
The travel platform will also bring “the magic of world-renowned musicals” into homes across the globe with its Broadway Musicals From Home. The virtual Broadway event will give guests a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into a Broadway musical—from intimate improv classes to interactive live performances.
Airbnb has also confirmed that their in-person Experiences will begin to resume in countries where it is safe to do so based on guidance from health experts and local governments starting as soon as this week.
