Rain or shine, nothing stops the spirit of adventure

Most would prefer to stay home during the rainy season. I mean, who likes getting wet? But there are those whose sense of adventure is never lost. If you’re one of those, surely you must have been itching to go somewhere. All it takes is one drive to get there. So, to help you decide your next destination, Tatler compiled this list of places you can satiate that travel hunger no matter the weather conditions. From glamping resorts and hot springs to serene camping locations, we’ve got you covered. Just be sure to be safe while you’re on the way there.

Are you craving for a long drive? Mudita Glamping Resort makes the four-hour drive worth it. Those seeking to commune with nature will be pleased to see five hectares of native fauna and flora. Their design philosophy is built on the foundation of preservation, so guests can expect to see Tarlac’s natural beauty in full force. This means it has no air conditioning. However, fear not that it will be a deal breaker. Nights in the province are known to be cold, so I’d keep the blanket close if I were you. If you’re looking to unwind after a long day, you can have a relaxing massage and drift to sleep to the sound of a nearby creek.

Hidden Valley Springs

The climate’s been cold lately, and finding warmth is a natural response. For some, warmth doesn’t necessarily mean dryness. Think of hot springs, which are plenty close to the metro! Hidden Valley Springs is situated near the Mount Makiling mountain range. It perfectly blends tranquil beauty and modern amenities. With a surrounding forest, natural pools and a quiet atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to escape from the fast-paced environment of the city.

Bukal Falls

Those undeterred by the cold can visit Bukal Falls. With crystal-clear waters, gushing streams and freezing temperatures, it’s impossible not to fall in love with the preserve at first sight. Though it is a 45-minute trek to reach from the municipality of Liliw, you can also ride there on horseback—which, in my opinion, makes this destination way better than it already is.

Staying at home snuggled up in your thickest sheets with a cup of warm cocoa is perfect for days like these, but what would make it better? Feeling cosy with your friends while doing the same thing you would do right now. Sometimes a change of scenery is all you need to unwind and brighten up the gloomy weather, and what better way to do that than to take a quick road trip to the forests of Antipolo? There are plenty of airbnbs surrounded by lush greenery waiting to be rented out. All you have to do is call up your friends and get there.

Camping, ATV rides, kayaking and jet skiing. If you opt to live on the edge, these activities are perfect for the adventurous soul. The best part? Rain doesn’t stop you from having fun. Some would even say that the rain enhances the experience. Bring a tent that can take torrential downpours, and you’re all set!
