The new Beijing lounge harmonises with its surroundings, employing architectural features such as strategically positioned roofing and windows to optimise natural light and outdoor views while maintaining year-round comfort. Rich materials like cherry wood and limestone give the space a warm, residential feel, steering away from the typical sterile airport lounge aesthetic.
A more welcoming lounge experience
A notable departure in design is seen at the reception, where Cathay Pacific transitions from a traditional counter to a podium format, providing a more welcoming, personalised arrival experience. This lounge also debuts Cathay Pacific’s Lounge Ambassadors outside Hong Kong, emphasising dedicated customer service.
The main lounge offers a mix of intimate seating with designer furnishings and subdued lighting, offering a refined atmosphere reminiscent of a comfortable private home. Dining options have been expanded to include three distinct areas: a Noodle Bar serving classic and regional Chinese dishes, including Beijing bean paste noodles, a Food Hall with varied international self-serve choices and, for the first time outside Hong Kong, a Teahouse featuring premium Chinese teas brewed to order by specialists.

The lounge is adorned with curated artworks, linking to the airline’s acclaimed Gallery in the Skies initiative, which showcases a collection of curated artworks throughout its cabins and lounges, and features pieces by renowned and emerging artists to enrich the passenger experience with cultural and aesthetic inspiration.
This reopening furthers Cathay Pacific’s commitment to bridging its Hong Kong hub with mainland China, complementing its extensive flight network and promising passengers a consistently elevated ground experience.
