In the 18th annual edition of Tripadvisor's Travelers' Choice Awards, the digital travel portal, which is one of the largest consumer review platforms in the world, has named The Upper House in Hong Kong the sixth best hotel in the world—and the best hotel in Hong Kong. The Travelers' Choice Awards are culled from the more than 860 million reviews on the site—which encompass more than 8.7 million businesses around the world. A highlighted review cited on The Upper House's accolade reads: "It's all about the little touches, from personal greeting cards to cookies and warm milk on a cold evening. I cannot stay anywhere else in HK."
Ahead of The Upper House in the site's global rankings are, in order of appearance: Viroth's Hotel in Siem Reap; Hanoi La Siesta Hotel & Spa in Vietnam; Tulemar Bungalows & Villas in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica; Quinta Jardins do Lago in Funchal, Portugal; and The Omnia in Zermatt.

This year's Travelers' Choice Awards also ranked the world's best fine dining restaurant, airlines, attractions, beaches, experiences, and destinations. According to Tripadvisor respondents and reviewers, the top-ten airlines in the world are, in rank order: Azul, Singapore Airlines, Korean Air, Japan Airlines (JAL), Jet2.com, Air New Zealand, Eva Air, Virgin Atlantic Airways, Qatar Airways, and Emirates.
