Displays from 250 galleries from around the world are expected to attract upwards of 70,000 visitors over the span of Art Basel Miami Beach. This year's sectors include Nova (galleries showcase new works), Positions (ambitious pieces from 16 selected artists), Editions (print-based collaborations) and Survey (art historical projects). Singapore Art Fair

Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre, SingaporeFollowing on from the Affordable Art Fair (Nov 20-23 at the F1 Pit Building), the inaugural SAF focuses on modern and contemporary artworks with a particular interest in artists from the Middle East, North Africa, and South East Asia. Photographer Roger Moukarzel will premiere "So Far So Close" on a 556m2 video wall, and a cultural programme extends to street art, video art, a public art showcase, video art, and educational talks. A Korean Contemporary Artist: Byungki Kim

Takahiro Iwasaki: Itsukushima Reflection Model

Iwasaki's famous "Reflection Model" series visits Melbourne, his suspended frames styled after traditional Japanese constructions but created to include what would be their own reflections, were they floating on Japan's Inland Sea rather than in the air of the NGV International's exhibition space. Exploring the significance of plum blossoms, orchids, bamboo and chrysanthemums in traditional Chinese painting, where each of the flowers represents a different quality and, together, were considered to imbue blessings upon recepients or -- in the case of artworks -- the appreciative viewer. A History of the World in 100 Objects
