Cover Air France’s newly redesigned La Première cabin class promises an ultra-luxe experience

France’s national carrier Air France enters a new era as its most exclusive cabin class, La Première, is now fully redesigned with a focus on seamless airport journeys and an exclusive new onboard suite

Some journeys begin at the airport. Others begin the moment you’re handed a flute of vintage champagne and your luggage disappears into the care of a waiting concierge—before you’ve even stepped onboard. For the discerning traveller, Air France’s newly reimagined La Première delivers that kind of beginning.

Billed as “the highest expression of travel,” the airline’s most exclusive cabin class lives up to the promise. From kerbside to cabin, it sets a new benchmark in luxury air travel—fusing the finesse of French haute couture with contemporary design and absolute discretion.

As of July 14, 2025, flight AF256 from Paris to Singapore is the second route to feature the new La Première suite on Air France’s daily Boeing 777-300ER service. The launch follows the product’s debut on the Paris–New York route in April, marking a significant milestone in the airline’s legacy of refinement. Guided by the spirit that has defined Air France since 1933, this next chapter of La Première represents French elegance, comfort and privacy at their most elevated—transforming long-haul travel into a luxurious reverie.

Reimagined suite experience

Developed over three years, the new La Première suite represents a masterclass in airborne design. Only four suites will be progressively introduced on select Boeing 777- 300ER aircraft, ensuring utmost exclusivity and personalised service. Each spans a generous 3.5 square metres–25 per cent more space than before—and adapts intuitively to the passenger’s rhythm.

A plush seat and opposing chaise longue configure seamlessly for dining, lounging or sleep. The chaise longue unfolds into a fully flat bed measuring two metres long and 75 centimetres wide, complete with a cosy blanket and oversized cushions. The seat features an embossed leather headrest bearing Air France’s historic winged seahorse, while ergonomic padding ensures comfort throughout every phase of the flight.

Privacy is paramount. Floor-to- ceiling curtains transform the suite into a cocoon of calm. Side suites boast five expansive windows—an Air France exclusive—while centre suites are fitted with full-height electric partitions, allowing for shared travel without compromising seclusion.

Craftsmanship is evident throughout: full-grain leather, wool-lined upholstery, champagne- toned accents and bespoke fabrics reflect the elegance of French design. Overhead bins are replaced by discreet floor-level storage, including a large drawer for two carry-ons, a dedicated shoe compartment, and a personal vanity with a backlit mirror and wardrobe.

Technology enhances the experience without intrusion. Each suite features two 32-inch 4K screens—among the largest in the sky—offering over 1,500 hours of entertainment. A wireless touchscreen tablet controls seat recline, bed position, window shades and ambient lighting. Guests can use provided noise-cancelling headphones or connect their own via Bluetooth. Power comes courtesy of USB-A, USB-C and 110V/220V outlets, alongside a wireless charging pad and device holder. From summer 2025, La Première passengers will also enjoy ultra-high-speed Wi-Fi, offering seamless connectivity throughout the journey.

French cuisine and haute couture comfort

Within the La Première experience is a culinary philosophy rooted in artistry, seasonality and indulgence. Menus are curated by leading names in French fine dining and hand-prepared by the crew before each meal, served on elegant tableware with the finesse of a Parisian dining room. From Paris, chefs Emmanuel Renaut, Arnaud Lallement and Anne-Sophie Pic rotate in crafting menus for La Première guests.

From Singapore, Julien Royer of triple Michelin-starred Odette creates bespoke dishes reflecting the city- state’s cosmopolitan spirit. Desserts are conceived by acclaimed pastry chefs Claire Heitzler and Angelo Musa, while Xavier Thuizat, head sommelier at Hôtel de Crillon, curates a wine and Champagne list that showcases the best of French terroir. This devotion to fine dining reflects Air France’s commitment to the art de vivre–where pleasure is never rushed, and details always matter.

Beyond the plate, indulgence continues with award-winning amenities. Each suite comes with a La Première comfort kit created in partnership with French beauty brand Sisley, winner of first prize at the 2024 TravelPlus Airlines Amenity Awards. Inside, travellers will find four skincare products, a sleep mask, earplugs, a wooden comb and a pen. Guests are also presented with custom sleepwear designed by Jacquemus, echoing the fashion house’s signature codes and the suite’s refined aesthetic.

Exclusive ground experience

The La Première experience begins long before take-off. At Paris-Charles de Gaulle, guests are met by a dedicated concierge and chauffeured in luxury vehicles to a private check-in area. Crucially, fast-track immigration ensures a discreet and seamless passage through the airport, followed by an escort via a private route to the La Première lounge. Inside the lounge—named Best First-Class Lounge Dining by Skytrax 2025—travellers can enjoy a gourmet menu by chef Alain Ducasse and his team, along with exclusive access to the La Première Sisley spa.

Guests may also reserve one of three 45-square-metre private suites (two of which are interconnecting), each with a bedroom, living area and outdoor patio for working, relaxing, or freshening up with a shower. La Première personnel personally deliver checked baggage and accompany guests to the aircraft via private tarmac transfers in Porsche Cayenne hybrid cars–bringing the ground experience to a discreet, elegant close.

At all Air France destinations, guests enjoy access to the airline’s lounges or partner facilities, with dedicated La Première areas being progressively introduced in key cities including New York, Los Angeles, Washington D.C. and San Francisco.

The highest expression of travel

Forget the airport rush. La Première is a world where every detail is meticulously considered, steeped in the indulgence of French savoir- faire. It embodies Air France’s spirit of excellence through personalised moments, thoughtful design and attentive service. With the new La Première suite now flying daily between Singapore and Paris, Air France invites travellers to rediscover long-haul flight not as transport but as a sensorial journey in its own right.

This isn’t just about reaching your destination; it’s about the very moment you step into Air France’s La Première world, where the journey truly begins. In a world of speed and sameness, La Première stands apart: private, poised and profoundly French.
