Surrounded by stunning visuals and green vineyards, Stuttgart is a paradise in Germany. With many beautiful places such as Heidelberg, the Black Forest and the renowned Lake Constance— only a two hour drive away— the capital of southwest Germany is one of the scenic jewels in the country.

But, with so many places to visit and activities to do, many tourists may find themselves overwhelmed. Fret not, we have break down five things not to miss while you are in Stuttgart. Book your ticket after you read this!


Shop away

For jetsetter who are seeking for luxury, high street brands then look no further and visit the shopping paradise: Breuninger. Housing the largest collection of shoes in the city, the German department store has something for everyone. Tired of shopping? Buyers can spend time drinking a glass of champagne while enjoying the ambience.


Art dose

The massive art museum named Staatsgalerie is a uniquely designed building filled with art masterpieces from the 14th to 20th Century. And while it does constantly change its exhibitions, it regularly features classic and contemporary art that will appeal to many art aficionados.


Take your picture

While you are spoiled with places that will take your breath away, or simply give a good photo backdrop to show off to your friends, one place is different and it is called the Kunstmuseum. Being an art museum, Kunstmuseum is filled with things to see yet it also happen to be located in a giant glass cube, which is give a perfect view of the whole city, especially during sunset.


Hidden gems

Located only 10 minutes from the train station Wilhelma Zoological and Botanical Garden is a lovely find for many tourists. As the brainchild of King Wilhelm I. of Württemberg who commissioned the construction in the 19th Century, the Wilhelma is the largest combined zoo and botanical garden in all of Europe yet surprisingly it is not that well-known.


Snack away

All the sightseeing can work up anyone’s appetite, and what’s better to sample a local dish while one is in Stuttgart? Gourmands are encouraged to try Rostbraten with spaetzli (roast beef with noodle in gravy) which can be found in most restaurants. Being a typical local dish some are better than others, but one thing is for sure Rostbraten is a tasty example of Swabian cuisine.
