Inside Tatler Singapore and Standard Chartered's exclusive padel clinic at Mandala Racquet Club, where 20 clients refined their game ahead of the playoffs happening 28-29 August at the Mandala Racquet Club
As the Tatler Padel Series builds toward its Singapore playoffs on August 28 to 29—part of a six-month circuit spanning seven markets across the region—the lead-up got its own dedicated warm up. On August 1, Tatler and Standard Chartered brought together an intimate group of 20 Standard Chartered clients for a private padel clinic at Mandala Racquet Club, built exclusively around one goal: sharpening the game of players who already knew their way around a court.
This was no beginners' session. Every guest arrived at Bronze level, competent and competitive, which meant the morning's four coaches from Mandala Racquet Club and Pro Padel Academy could focus on what mattered—refining technique, sharpening shot selection, and tightening the instincts that separate a good player from a great one.

The morning opened with welcome remarks from Dana Koh, editor-in-chief of Tatler Singapore, and Zech Tan, head of segments at Standard Chartered. Tan’s address set the tone for the day: padel, he noted, is among the fastest-growing sports in the world, but its real power lies off the scoreboard. For a room of high-net-worth individuals with famously little unstructured time, the court has quietly become one of the sharpest places to meet someone worth knowing—no pitch decks, no small talk, just two hours of shared focus and a game that rewards genuine skill.
Call it a court of connection, where relationships form through the game itself rather than around it.
That idea sits inside a larger shift Tatler has been tracking closely: wellness has become a luxury category in its own right, and padel—social, physically demanding, and genuinely difficult to master—sits precisely at its intersection with status and self-expression. The clinic reflected that thinking end to end, from a structured coaching block through 30 minutes of drills across four courts, into a live play session, before the morning closed with a cool-down and refreshments.
The clinic also marks the latest chapter in a longstanding partnership between Tatler and Standard Chartered, one that has spanned thought leadership events and multimedia content collaborations across lifestyle, wealth management and legacy building. Padel is its newest arena—and, with Singapore's playoffs now just weeks away, very much a sign of the momentum still to come.
The Tatler Padel Series Singapore playoffs take place on August 28 and 29 at Mandala Racquet Club, ahead of the season's Regional Final later this year.
