Kim Kardashian West’s shapewear company, Skims, will be headed to the Tokyo Olympics 2020 next month
Announced on Monday, Kim Kardashian West shared the news that Skims will be designing the official undergarments, pyjamas, and loungewear for Team USA to wear at the Olympics and Paralympics.
“Ever since I was 10 years old, I’ve heard every single detail about the Olympics from my stepdad. As I would watch the athletes compete, I would grow to understand the dedication and honor being a part of the Olympics embodied,” Kardashian tweeted.
Attached to the tweet were two teaser photos of the undergarment collection and a photo of the Team USA loungewear modelled by soccer player Alex Morgan and Paralympian Scout Basset. Featuring cotton sports bras and briefs in colours light grey and taupe, the bra comes with a scooped neckline while briefs show off a stylish ribbed, high-waisted waistband. The USA flag and the Olympics/ Paralympic logo are proudly stitched on in white at the centre of the undergarments.
For loungewear, field athlete Dalilah Muhammad modelled a light grey, oversized cotton T-shirt with a white outlined American flag and the Olympics logo printed at the back. On the left sleeve, “Team USA” can be read in capitalised letters. For the bottom half of the outfit, the athlete wore a ribbed pair of fitted cotton boxers in grey with a wide elastic waistband that closely resembles Skims’ existing soft lounge boxers.
