The NextGeneration Advocate Foundation PH, Inc (NextGen) recently held a fundraising golf tournament to drive its advocacy towards building a sustainable community and revitalise Intramuros as a vibrant cultural hub
Non-stock, non-government organisation NextGen amps up its commitment to nation-building by hosting a fundraising golf tournament last September 16 at Sta Elena Golf and Country Club. Named ‘Play It Forward’, the project is underlined by the foundation’s focus on advocating youth empowerment through its partnership with Life Project for Youth (LP4Y) and sustainable community development through tourism, with its partnership with the Intramuros Administration (IA).
The foundation works hand in hand with First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos and the IA to transform the celebrated heritage district of Intramuros into a sustainable community that thrives through cultural and tourism development. This heritage jewel in the heart of Manila dates back to the Spanish Colonial Period and is hailed today as one of Asia’s leading tourist attractions in the World Travel Awards 2024.
NextGen also supports marginalised Filipino youth through its partnership with LP4Y, an international organisation empowering young adults aged 17 to 24, grappling with extreme poverty and social exclusion, through education.

180 golfers participated in the said event, raising over PhP30 million in donations. This is a significant increase compared to the PhP16 million raised last November 2023, which impacted 37,000 Filipinos.
“Since we started, we’ve shown that together, we can achieve more,” shares Paolo Martel, vice president of NextGen.
The 2023 funds raised were used to support disaster relief operations, which helped 8,000 families; rehabilitate the Pasig River; fund feeding programmes for around 5,000 children; and accomplish health, wellness, and charity drives for approximately 2,500 women and children in remote areas.
“We’re also focused on empowering the next generation with skills and opportunities to lead, while working towards food security and better health for all,” Martel continues.
