Horseback riding can be a little daunting, especially if you're a person who isn't used to activities that are a little rugged and unpredictable. But if you want to give it a try, there are equestrian training centres around the Philippines where you can enrol. We've listed some of them below:

1. Manila Polo Club Riding School

Manila Polo Club has a variety of renowned and respected riding instructors who make sure that first-timers would not have a hard time dealing with the horses. Among their specialities are English riding and jumping, dressage, and show jumping.

2. Marikina Equestrian Centre

For PHP 15,000, those who wish to learn the basics of horseback riding will have the privilege to do so in an open field at Marikina Equestrian Centre. Located at 81 General Ordoñez Avenue, Marikina Heights, the training ground offers sessions that last up to one hour each. 

 

3. Leviste Equestrian Park, Batangas

Owned by renowned female equestrian Toni Leviste, the Leviste Equestrian Park in Batangas is a 10-hectare, world-class facility that is dedicated to the care and welfare of horses and their riders. 

The equestrian park maintains a large communal grassy area where horses can graze and relax every day. "With the best-trained grooms (horse handlers and caretakers) in the Philippines, each horse is treated with dignity, respect, and tender loving care."

4. Rancho Mati, Plaridel, Bulacan

Join trail rides, have access to stabling services, get professional training, and more. Just an hour away from Metro Manila, Rancho Mati in Plaridel, Bulacan is known for its scenic grasslands. 

Booking for a lesson includes the rental of a horse, trainer, and use of facilities. The lesson will be more on the technical side of riding, including horsemanship.

5. Happy Horse Farms Equestrian Centre, Talisay

Happy Horse Farms Equestrian Centre in Talisay is open to kids and adults who want to explore Negrense Haciendas on a horseback. Here, they will be given a chance to ride through quiet cane fields and get to know more about the nearby communities.

Students who wish to try can avail of the training centre's first 10 lessons for PHP 16,000 with every succeeding lesson for PHP 1,500 each. For an introduction, a one-time lesson costs PHP 2,000.
