其實雷格拉吉也是臨危授命，在前總教練哈利爾霍季奇（Vahid Halilhodzic）與摩洛哥足協因「意見分歧」遭解雇後，於世界盃開打前 90 天才被任命為摩洛哥的總教練，但是目前他帶領的球隊成績已經有目共睹，除了是首支在世界盃踢進 4 強的非洲球隊外，摩洛哥連 8 戰未嘗敗績並且只丟掉 1 球，所以雷格拉吉保有強大的信念，表示：「我知道我們不是奪冠熱門，但我們做好了準備，隊員們屆時會充滿動力，比賽中將會不遺餘力地奔跑。」
