The F1 75 Live event at London’s O2 Arena marked the first time the sport hosted its own large-scale launch. Here’s everything that happened
Formula 1 celebrated its 75th anniversary and the launch of the 2025 season with a glamorous event at the O2 Arena in London. The two-hour televised show aimed to broaden the sport’s appeal beyond its traditional audience.
The show featured drivers arriving in style on the red carpet and culminated with all 20 drivers standing on a stage transformed into a grid, alongside cars adorned with each team’s 2025 livery.

It was the first instance where the sport organised its own large-scale launch rather than leaving it to individual teams. Here’s a rundown of the evening’s key moments:
Entrance and reunions on the red carpet
The red carpet at the O2 Arena set the stage for the year’s biggest Formula 1 celebration and provided a platform for reunions between drivers and their former teams.
A particularly anticipated reunion was that of Lewis Hamilton with his former team manager, Toto Wolff, and Wolff’s wife, Susie. The red carpet also welcomed veteran drivers, CEOs, and celebrities.

Team entrance on stage
The teams made a grand entrance, each with their own unique flair. For the first time in Formula 1 history, all 20 teams unveiled their 2025 liveries.
They presented their 2025 liveries in reverse order of the previous year’s championship standings, culminating in McLaren’s reveal. Lavish presentations followed, including an Aston Martin James Bond parody, drummers wielding glowing sticks, cars dramatically sliding onto the stage on motorised platforms, and a parade for the championship-winning McLaren team.
First glimpse of the cars
The event offered a first look at the 2025 liveries, which were displayed on show cars.
While the main focus was on the new designs, it is expected that each team will still hold separate launches to formally introduce the cars they’ll be racing this season.
A star-studded artist line-up
The event featured a diverse lineup of musical entertainment, from country star Kane Brown, who introduced the Haas team, and British band Take That to the high-energy rock rap of Machine Gun Kelly.

The event offered new details about the upcoming Apple Original Films’ F1 including behind-the-scenes footage and insights from Lewis Hamilton, who is a producer on the movie and actively involved in its production. The sport’s drivers, teams, governing body (FIA), and race promoters all contributed to the film, granting director Joseph Kosinski unprecedented access.
The film is scheduled for release in June 2025 and stars Hollywood icon Brad Pitt and Damson Idris, who play veteran racer and exciting rookie, respectively, on the fictional APXGP team. The storyline follows the classic narrative of a veteran returning from retirement to mentor a promising newcomer.
