Carlos Alcaraz secures a career Grand Slam as Louis Vuitton’s bespoke craftsmanship takes centre stage at the Australian Open
Carlos Alcaraz clinched the Australian Open men’s singles title on February 1 following a dominant four-set victory over Novak Djokovic. The win saw the 22-year-old Alcaraz dash Djokovic’s hopes for a 25th Grand Slam and secure a historic career Grand Slam. He now joins an elite group including Andre Agassi, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Djokovic himself as one of the few men in the Open Era to have won all four majors.

The final was preceded by a ceremony featuring actress and Louis Vuitton ambassador Chloë Grace Moretz and tennis legend Marat Safin. The pair presented the Norman Brookes Challenge Cup, housed in a bespoke Louis Vuitton trophy trunk handcrafted at the Maison’s Asnières workshops. Built with the brand’s signature Monogram canvas and brass hardware, the trunk’s front panels opened to reveal a white “V” for Victory and Vuitton—a design that has protected the trophy since the tournament began on January 18.

On court, the atmosphere was one of mutual respect. Alcaraz, now the youngest man in the Open Era to hold all four major titles, described the experience as “a dream come true” before signing the camera lens. “Lifting the trophy for the first time in Australia was crazy,” he said. “A dream come true. I dreamt about getting an Australian Open and completing the career Grand Slam.”
“What you’ve been doing... the best word to describe it is historic,” noted Djokovic. “So congratulations. I wish you the best of luck for the rest of your career. You’re so young. You have a lot of time—like myself! I’m sure we’ll be seeing each other many times in the next 10 years.”
