Many of us have a love-hate relationship with running—despite the post-run endorphins and adrenaline, running is tiring and it hurts. What’s more, running on the sidewalk while inhaling car fumes and being stopped at every traffic light is never a good experience.
That said, Singapore is home to plenty of running routes and trails that can make your running experience a little more enjoyable—if you know where to look. So, whether you’re looking to admire the sights or find a new route, we share some of the best running routes to clock in some mileage.

1. Changi Airport Connector
Best for: Those looking for a short and fun run
Spanning 3.5km and linking Changi Airport with East Coast Park, the Changi Airport Connector (also known as the Jurassic Mile) is perfect for a short run. On top of having a fairly flat route, the path is filled with over 20 large dinosaur statues that are sure to make the run much more exciting.
2. Rail Corridor
Best for: Those who enjoy long runs
While the entire Rail Corridor spans 24 km, offering runners a continuous green passage from Kranji to Tanjong Pagar, the best part about this route is that there are plenty of entrances and exits, allowing you to start and end your run wherever you like. For those comfortable with running on trails, start at Bukit Timah Railway Station and make your way up north towards Hillview MRT. Not only does this route provide ample shade from the hot sun, but water coolers and toilets are also available, allowing you to hydrate before continuing with your run. For a flatter and more even route, head south towards Tanjong Pagar Railway Station which takes you along the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE).
3. Bishan Park to Lower Peirce Reservoir
Best for: Those seeking a peaceful and leisurely run
The route from Bishan Park to Lower Peirce Reservoir is the perfect choice for beginners or anyone looking for a gentle jog. This trail winds through lush greenery and serene water bodies, offering a refreshing retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. Start your run on the Riverplain side of Bishan Park and enjoy one of the largest urban parks in central Singapore. To reach Lower Peirce Reservoir, continue along the park connector towards the pond side of Bishan Park.
4. Marina Bay
Best for: Those looking for an urban route
Experience the ultimate Urban-Meets-Nature run, an iconic route that effortlessly combines the vibrancy of city life with the tranquillity of nature. This trail takes you from the iconic skyline of Marina Bay Sands to the serene beaches of East Coast Park. Start your journey at Marina Bay Sands, where you can soak in the captivating sights of Gardens by the Bay and its intriguing sculptures. The final stretch takes you through East Coast Park, where you’ll be welcomed by refreshing sea breezes and scenic coastal views. The route ranges from 5 km to 20 km, making it ideal for runners of all levels.
5. Mandai Trail
Best for: Trail runners
Also known as the T15 Trail, this 7.1 km richly wooded loop starts at the Central Catchment Park Connector entrance and takes you through some of Singapore’s most stunning flora and fauna. The trail also offers ample shade, allowing you to hide from the hot sun. Do note that the trail is shared amongst trekkers, runners and cyclists, so be mindful of others. Dogs are also not allowed on the trail.
