Tatler kicks off the Year of the Water Rabbit with a monthly animal signs outlook in collaboration with Dato' Joey Yap's Mastery Academy of Chinese Metaphysics
The fourth animal in the 12-year cycle according to Chinese astrology, the Rabbit is a zodiac animal that represents people born in 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011, and 2023.
The Chinese New Year falls on January 22, 2023, welcoming the Year of the Water Rabbit, a sub-component of the Rabbit that applies to those born in 1963. This is because Chinese astrology also incorporates the five elements—water, metal, wood, earth, and fire—and the zodiac moves through a different element each year.
The Rabbit symbolises good luck, patience, prosperity, and vigour while the Yin Water element represents sensitivity, intuition, and inner peace. Combined, we can expect to move into a more patient and gentle 2023, with some lucky breaks.
