Have a look at the lovely moments Alodia Gosiengfiao and Christoper Quimbo shared on their wedding day

He was not pulling a prank when Christopher Quimbo asked Alodia Gosiengfiao to go steady on April 1. He did not mind that it coincided with what’s commonly known as April Fools’ Day; what concerned him more was if Alodia would believe him and say yes, even after only a month and a half of meeting each other.

Alodia believed Christopher and seemed equally in a hurry to make their relationship official. On the following Valentine’s Day, one year to the day they first met, she was already walking down the aisle in a Mak Tumang creation. “We were able to make a lovely gown on time. It was designed with some elements of a dragon since I was born that year,” the bride explains. Her cousin, Melissa Yeung Yap, also went out of her way to sculpt a beautiful white dragon for the reception.

The theme of the weddings was not unusual: ethereal and fantasy, as suggested by the event designer Gideon Hermosa. “Christopher is enigmatic and handsome, and Alodia has the regal presence of someone who lived in a fantastical world of cosplay and games,” the designer shares. “By incorporating digital and lighting technology, I gave them a unique midnight-to-dawn wedding that looks straight out of a fantasy romance film.”

The two took their vows at the Marriott Grand Ballroom before Pastor Tan-Chi, Jr of Christ’s Commission Fellowship. Christopher joked that Alodia tried to write her vows with ChatGTP but was unsuccessful due to server issues. “I did want to use it,” Alodia admits, “but the servers were full. So, I wrote everything myself on the morning of the big day.”

They had around 550 guests, including the groom’s core friends from the Philippines and the USA. Meanwhile, the bride welcomed her relatives and friends in the gaming, cosplay and online community.

No tears were left unshed during the reception. “It all moved so fast...there were so many people, photos taken, and glasses of wine to drink that the day itself felt somewhat of a blur,” shares Christopher.

After dinner, the newlyweds opened the dancefloor. “Although we started with the song Golden Hour by JVKE, we quickly transitioned into the TikTok sensation Tang Tig Tang Ting,” the groom adds. “We were very blessed to have Eric Tai [Eruption] join us on stage and show us how it is done.”

They are just happy to start a life together. “The wedding on Valentine’s Day means that we’re married within one year of meeting each other. I know it sounds corny, but when you know, you know,” says Christopher.
