With the release of the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV, we’re one step closer to achieving a sustainable mobile future
Since 2019, Mercedes-Benz has shown its strong commitment to sustainable mobility with the release of its EQC model. Just last year, the auto manufacturer introduced the EQA, EQB, and EQE sedans, giving us more options to enjoy eco-friendly luxury.
Mercedes-Benz unveiled its latest fully-electric vehicle, the EQE SUV, last June 10. A direct successor to the EQE sedan, this compact SUV delivers greater flexibility, a sleek design, and a commanding presence on the road. In this article, Tatler shows you what it’s like to be inside and what you can expect.

The Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV features a sleek, aerodynamic exterior with an intentional design. Each contour doesn’t just make the car look aesthetically pleasing; it enhances efficiency and performance. Its 21-inch AMG multi-spoke light alloy wheels ensure smooth travel while flaunting a sporty look—appealing to young adults. Pair that with its seamless door handles and an elegant black panel grille with three-dimensional star patterns, and you’ve got all the elements that make for a sophisticated vehicle.

The 3D helical tail lights, combined with a continuous light band, finish off the look, creating a mesmerising visual effect.
Stepping inside, the EQE SUV looks and feels like it came from a sci-fi film. LED light strips decorate the central console, and customisation options allow you to change the colour and pattern to suit your mood. The interior also boasts a superior Burmester 3D surround sound system with 15 speakers, elevating your driving experience.
The centre console also features two spacious storage boxes for your belongings. Between the two, you can find every essential component, such as the hazard lights and ignition, allowing for ease of access.

The Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV’s standout feature is its MBUX Hyperscreen—56 inches of high-tech glass that seamlessly integrates with the dashboard allowing the driver or passenger to access customisation options. Powered by advanced AI, the hyperscreen learns your preferences and habits to provide tailored suggestions and optimises both performance and enjoyment. Additionally, anyone can simply say “Hey Mercedes” followed by a command for a hands-free experience on controlling certain features such as volume, music, and GPS services.
Distinctive for being one of the most spacious vehicles in its class, the EQE SUV offers generous legroom and headspace for all passengers. With a load capacity of 580 or 1675 litres when the rear seats are folded, your storage needs will surely be met.
Its multi-contour seats are comfortable, and to say they are comfortable is an understatement. One could stay seated for hours on a long out-of-town drive without feeling an ache, and should you feel a cramp coming up, the seats offer adjustable support, massage functions, and climate control.

The EQE SUV is packed with state-of-the-art safety systems. Automatic braking and adaptive cruise control are pretty standard at this point. Still, Mercedes-Benz pushed the envelope on innovation with the revolutionary Driver Assistance Package. This intelligent system seamlessly integrates with your driving experience to provide a relaxed and safe journey. The most attractive feature is how it transforms your windshield into a digital cockpit through a heads-up display (HUD). This system allows the driver to keep their eyes on the road while still having access to crucial information on the fly.

Gone are the days when we thought electric vehicles were only for city driving. The EQE SUV has a massive electric range of 536 to 628 kilometres, allowing one to drive to Baguio from Manila and back on a single charge. Its lithium-ion battery has a capacity of up to 96 kilowatt hours and can be charged with the power of 170 kilowatts using the onboard DC fast charging system. Packing 292hp and 565nm torque, the EQE SUV’s top-of-the-line performance lets you reach 100km/h in just 6.9 seconds.
