Lamborghini has an illustrious history dating back to 1963 and has produced many iconic supercars. Perhaps the most iconic, the Miura, was revisited as a concept model in 2006 but it never made it into production largely due to Lamborghini’s production capability back then. However, things have changed at Lamborghini as the marque's production skills and flexibility have vastly improved over the past decade.

Several of the more significant concept cars became limited production models, beginning with the Reventon and Sesto Elemento, each delivered with audacious styling and features, not to mention with outrageous price tags as well.

This year, Lamborghini launched their latest limited production model, the Countach LPI 800-4 as an homage to the original that appeared 50 years ago. Back in the late 1970s, the original Countach was the pin-up car for many a teenager and Lamborghini decided for its 50th anniversary that it should transform the legend into reality.

“The engineering team that developed the original Countach helped advance Lamborghini’s pioneering technical approach, delivering unexpected innovations and the best performance available in a production car,” says Lamborghini Chief Technology Officer Maurizio Reggiani. “That spirit inherently drives Lamborghini R&D, resulting in the pioneering hybrid technology in the LPI 800-4, and the emotive driving experience and top-line performance expected from a flagship V12 Lamborghini.”
