The Ferretti Yachts 720 is now available to purchase from local luxury marine retailer, Hong Seh Marine

The call of the ocean is a hard one to ignore, most sailors would claim, as any journey into the big blue ocean promises boundless adventure and freedom that simply can’t be replicated anywhere else. In that spirit, the luxury marine leisure industry has followed rising demands to expand eastwards with ample success—indicated by the approximate 400 per cent increase in visitor turnout at the annual Singapore Yacht Show since its debut in 2011—with a streak of standout pleasure vessels that take luxury yachting to a whole new level, year after year.

Looking for a yacht that's unlike any other? Cue the Ferretti Yachts 720, the latest addition to the Ferretti Yachts fleet manufactured by leading Italian shipbuilder, Ferretti Group. The vessel debuted at the Cannes Yachting Festival last year and made quite the impression with the crowd thanks to its sleek yet versatile design.

Measuring 73.4ft in length and 18.6ft in beam, the Ferretti Yachts 720 is equipped with interchangeable living spaces that provide maximum comfort for guests onboard, all cleverly designed in collaboration with Italian architect, Filippo Salvetti, to resemble a villa on the seas.

For the uninitiated, the construction of this vessel also marks the second project that Salvetti has completed with the Ferretti Group, helming the exterior design of the Ferretti Yachts 720 this time. The result? Clean deckhouse lines and finely poised shapes that contribute to its aerodynamic design.

Similar to previous models, the yacht’s expansive external forward area can be transformed from a large sun pad into a comfortable dining space to fit a communal table. Made of carbon fibre and composite materials, the flybridge then spans a spacious 30m², with the option of configuring the hard top in three different ways: using a fixed window, integrated bimini, or fixing in adjustable louvres in place. These optional fix-ins are perfect for summer escapades as they provide for plenty of shade for guests to lounge under, all while enjoying the cool ocean breeze from the terrace.

Polished exteriors aside, discerning buyers have the option of choosing between two styles of interior design. The first is characterised by its light and neutral hues completed with walnut finishing, while the second includes darker tones and glossy ebony surfaces.

The walls on both the main and lower decks feature an innovative nanotech material, Fenix, an anti-fingerprint surface that is soft to the touch. It also has a subtle ribbed pattern that when shone on, creates playful shadows along the passageway to the cabins—a nod to the brand’s commitment to bespoke and forward-thinking design.

Organised distinctly into three zones, the main deck of the yacht sports an open-plan living space with two large facing sofas, raised dining area, and helm station equipped with an electro-hydraulic steering system. For those behind the wheel, they will be thrilled to experience greater steering comfort and maximum efficiency when turning regardless of the sea conditions, even at high speeds.

Venturing into the lower deck, guests will be greeted by four cabins—each designed to accommodate guests comfortably. The largest is the owner's suite that occupies the full beam of 20m², fitted with a king-sized bed, walk-in closet and large bathroom with two basins and a standing shower. It is also preceded by a space for relaxation with a large sofa.

Second to that is the VIP cabin situated at the foredeck of the vessel which comes with an ensuite bathroom and shower. The remaining two double cabins are each fitted with a pair of single beds and share a bathroom as well.

Owners of the Ferretti Yachts 720 can choose to have their vessel equipped with twin MAN V12 engines, which are capable of producing 1400mhp. The former would enable a top speed of 32 with a cruising speed of 28 knots, as compared to the MAN V8 engine which produces a standard 1200mhp.
