Apple’s 2024 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) keynote has come and gone, leaving behind a trail of excitement and anticipation for the future of Apple technology. The annual event took place on June 10, bringing together developers, designers and industry experts to explore Apple’s latest advancements.
This year, the keynote focused on artificial intelligence (AI) and privacy while pushing the boundaries of its products and services.
From highly-anticipated iOS updates to the arrival of Apple Vision Pro in Singapore, here are some of the biggest takeaways from the yearly conference.

One of the biggest announcements during the conference was Apple’s deep integration of AI across its platforms, enabling various new abilities across its apps. For example, users will now be able to create custom AI emojis (also known as Genmoji) just by typing a prompt. AI will also be introduced to the Photos app, allowing users to edit and clean up photos easily; and the Notes app with the addition of AI-powered transcriptions.
Siri is about to get a big AI upgrade too, with the integration of OpenAI’s ChatGPT chatbot. This means that Siri will be able to tap into ChatGPT’s functions and expertise if the user allows it to. Siri will also be able to control apps on the device. For example, you can now ask Siri to find information inside an email or send a link to a group chat.

The iOS 18 introduces customisation for our apps and widgets. For one, the new update will allow us to place apps and widgets freely, making for a more personalised Home Screen layout. App icons and widgets can be tinted to any colour and will now come in two sizes. The Control Centre will also feature a new group of controls which can be rearranged and resized for your convenience.
Protect sensitive apps by locking and hiding them away when your phone is used by others. These locked and hidden apps will require a Face ID to be unlocked.
Other major changes include improved Bluetooth privacy, a new Game Mode to maximise gameplay performance, a new password app and a redesign of the Photos app.

Apple has announced the expansion of its VR headset Apple Vision Pro to new countries and regions including Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore. Blending augmented reality with virtual reality, the headset allows users to interact and navigate projected Apple apps with their eyes, hands and voice.
On top of announcing its availability to new countries and regions, the Apple Vision Pro is set to get its first major operating system update. The new update will introduce support for ultra-wide virtual Mac display, travel mode, intuitive gestures and more.
