Here’s what we know about the Thai heartthrobs’ performance this weekend—and why Win has been spotted in Lan Kwai Fong

Fashion icons and 2gether (2020) actors, Vachirawit Chivaaree (Bright) and Metawin Opas-iamkajorn (Win) are in the city for their one-night-only Side By Side Concert Tour in Hong Kong, which is set to take over AsiaWorld-Expo this Saturday, July 8.

This highly anticipated stop in Hong Kong was announced in May by Asia Music Group, and it is part of the duo’s Asia tour, which includes the concerts they held in Yokohama—just outside of Tokyo, Japan—last month.

This is the pair’s second visit to Hong Kong. Previously, they were in the city for their Shooting Star Asia Tour in Hong Kong in February 2023. Jirawat Sutivanichsak (Dew) and Hirunkit Changkham (Nani), who star alongside Bright and Win in the Thai romantic series F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers (2021), which is based on popular Japanese manga series Hana Yori Dango by Yoko Kamio, also performed in the concert.

Besides F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers, Win and Bright are best known their work in 2gether, in which Tine (played by Win) and Sarawat (played by Bright) are two university students who accidentally fall in love during the course of pretending to be in a relationship, which Tine engineered to discourage the affections from an admirer. The romantic comedy was thrusted into the international limelight, and Win and Bright then garnered further global attention when they became ambassadors for Prada and Burberry respectively.

Now, they’re back to delight their Hong Kong fans once more, and with a unique setlist. Win told media earlier today that they will “perform songs not sung in Japan and Thailand”.

The duo seem very aware and thankful for the support of their fans, and it shows in the projects they’re working on and the interactions they maintain with their fanbase. Bright says he’s planning on releasing a new song in about a month, while Win says he “already have solo meetings with fans, but will do more of these sessions in the future. Stay tuned to my social media”.

Perhaps that is because they know what it is like to be a fan—they even have their own dream collabs in mind. For Win, Justin Bieber is at the top of his list, and Bright says he really wants “to work with The Weeknd”.

Their ambitions are not only limited to music though, they also have more dreams for their acting careers. Win says he wants to try an action role next, while Bright is keen to play either a hero or villain, “maybe opposite Win”, he says.

Speaking of movies, Win isn’t only in Hong Kong for the concert. He is also currently filming parts of Parallel Skies, a new film in which he stars alongside Filipina actress Janella Salvador and Filipino-born Hong Kong personality Richard Juan, and has been spotted shooting on location in Lan Kwai Fong.
