Where to stay
Guests flying in for the festival can stay close to the action without compromising on luxury at the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong, Clockenflap’s official hotel partner this year.
Just steps away from the Central Harbourfront, the hotel offers a Weekend Getaway room package that includes a daily breakfast in the Clipper Lounge or Café Causette for two, a bottle of sparkling wine and house-made gourmet chocolates, 30 complimentary treatment minutes when booking any 60-minute treatment at The Mandarin Spa and 20 percent off Clockenflap tickets booked through the hotel’s concierge.
Acts to watch
Arguably the most eclectic and diverse musical lineup Hong Kong has ever seen, the festival features a total of around 100 top international, regional and local acts—including our very own MD on the decks with his DJ collective Uptown Rockers. Four global legendary acts are set to light up the mainstage: New York indie legends Interpol; Grammy-nominated Malian duo Amadou & Mariam; former Talking Heads frontman David Byrne and former Pulp lead singer Jarvis Cocker and his new band, JARV IS.
Fans of American R&B sensation Khalid, the prodigious talent behind hit-filled ‘American Teen’, will have a chance to watch his live performance debut in Hong Kong as he takes over the mainstage with hypnotic MCs and hip-hop beatmakers.
Just this past weekend, Clockenflap announced Erykah Badu, the queen of neo-soul as the final addition to bring Sunday night to a phenomenal close, joining the likes of Sudanese-American rapper Oddisee alongside his band Good Company and reggae-influenced South London beatmaker Swindle.
Best seats: Clockenflap VIP Premium Lounge
Skip the crowd with Clockenflap’s first-ever VIP pass, which comes with reserved tables for six guests and up at the Premium Lounge directly facing the Harbourflap mainstage.
Other exclusive package entitlements include festival tickets with VIP fast track entry, premium drink packages, extra lounge access lanyards, goody bag and deluxe bathroom facilities.
What to eat
Let’s not forget that Clockenflap has plenty to offer other than music. Don’t miss out on the festival’s culinary offerings this year, including the exclusive launch of Sausage Commitment, a new project initiated by the team behind Okra Kitchen focusing on house-made smoked sausages featuring flavour profiles with an Asian twist.
With over 20 food stalls serving up a tempting variety of cuisines, and drinks conveniently within reach from the main stages, you will be spoilt for choice for a full day or entire weekend of dancing and indulging from stage to stage.
