根據了解，由於湯姆克魯斯信奉「山達基教」，為遵循教義必須和「離教」的前妻和家人們保持距離，甚至相關人士還爆料，「他甚至連一通電話都沒有打給女兒。」至今已經過了 10 年和女兒關係非常疏離，不過阿湯哥仍舊有支付贍養費等相關費用，據傳他每年光是扶養費就高達 1200 萬元台幣。
