As the nation gears up for National Day season, Singapore comes alive with a vibrant lineup of events celebrating SG60
This year, Singapore celebrates its 60th birthday and the nation is going all out to mark the occasion. To commemorate its diamond jubilee, there is a vibrant line-up of events and activities for everyone to enjoy. From exhibitions to pop-ups, these SG60 experiences pay tribute to Singapore’s rich history and multicultural identity. Along with reminiscing on six decades of growth, these events also look forward to the future, envisioning the journey ahead.

1. SingaPop! 60 Years of Singapore Pop Culture

ArtScience Museum’s latest exhibition looks back at the nation’s evolving cultural landscape over the past six decades. Learn more about the key moments in Singapore’s cultural transformation from hawker culture to the Singlish language. The exhibition is split into five chapters, with each chapter taking you through different eras from the 1960s to the 2020s.
2. Play Nation Kopi Shop

Marina Square pays tribute to Singapore’s iconic kopitiam culture with an experiential retail pop-up. Local game-play and entertainment brand Play Nation has designed limited-edition collectibles inspired by local breakfast favourites—think kaya butter toast, kopi cups, soy sauce bottles and more. Head to the serving counter and experience the theatre of having your plushies playfully packaged by the Play Nation team.
3. Memory Lane Afternoon Tea

Visit The Fullerton Hotel Singapore’s The Courtyard or The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore’s The Landing Point for a lavish afternoon tea spread that takes you down memory lane. In collaboration with homegrown cafe chain Ya Kun Kaya Toast, this uniquely local afternoon tea spread takes us on a gastronomic journey through nostalgic flavours. Start with the savouries and dig into bite-sized gems offering familiar flavours of chilli crab and curry chicken. When it comes to sweets, the dessert spread is crafted with Ya Kun’s signature ingredients, including freshly ground kopi and kaya spread.
4. Singapore Odyssea: A Journey Through Time

When: From August 8
The National Museum of Singapore celebrates SG60 with a multimedia showcase, ‘Singapore Odyssea: A Journey Through Time’. Housed within the Glass Rotunda, the showcase invites us on a voyage through 700 years of Singapore’s history. Walk through the immersive showcase and discover how the sea has shaped the nation’s past, present and future. RFID technology is also used to bring magical wildlife companions to life.
5. National Day Light & Music Showcase

Visit Jewel Changi Airport and catch a unique National Day light and music showcase at the Jewel Rain Vortex. The nightly show transforms the world’s tallest indoor waterfall into a canvas of lights and colours. The showcase is complete with the melody of the classic National Day song, Home.
