BTS' all-kill win is the highest awards tally they've received at the BBMAs and makes them the first South Korean act to bring home four awards in one night

Fresh off the release of their new summer song, Butter, which has already raked in records for the most-viewed YouTube video in 24 hours and the biggest song debut in Spotify history, BTS once again made history today—sweeping all four categories they're nominated in for the Billboard Music Awards. The South Korean superstars extend their winning streak in the Top Social Artist category, taking home the award for the fifth consecutive year.

The group also won the Top Duo/Group category, the second time to win the award. Their chart-topping hit, Dynamite, which earned them their first Grammy nomination, took home Top Selling Song and they subsequently bagged the Top Song Sales Artist. The upbeat disco-pop song has spent 32 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and previously made history as the first song by a South Korean act to debut at number one.

They also become the first Asian act to chart a number one song since Sukiyaki by Japanese singer Kyu Sakamoto in 1963. Dynamite was the best-selling single in the US in 2020, the only song to exceed more than a million downloads.

This year's Billboard Music Awards is the most nominations that the group received and the all-kill win is their highest awards tally in the awards event, adding to their growing list of history-making accolades.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and international travel restrictions, the group weren't able to attend the awards show personally. Recreating the BBMAs red carpet from Seoul, BTS leader, RM thanked their fans, ARMY for the support.

"It's really an honour to be a winner of such a significant title," he said on winning Top Song Sales Artist. This is the first year that the group was nominated for and bagged the award. "We wanted to share some fresh energy through Dynamite and we think this award is proof that we achieved that goal," he added.

Jin also said: "Thank you for loving our music and thank you for all the awards we won tonight".

With this four-award sweep, there's clearly no stopping the meteoric rise of BTS—not that it has to because at this point, it seems like the group is headed for world domination and we're definitely here for it.
