Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen, known for playing Gellert Grindelwald in ‘Fantastic Beasts’ and Le Chiffre in ‘Casino Royale’, has confirmed his attendance at the Comic Con Hong Kong this year
Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen will make his debut appearance at Comic Con Hong Kong 2026, organisers confirmed via Instagram today (February 10, 2026). The event, one of Asia’s largest celebrations of comics, film and gaming, will take place this May, featuring a line-up of international film and television stars.
Mikkelsen, known for his work across European and Hollywood cinema, became widely recognised for his portrayal of Hannibal Lecter in the acclaimed television series Hannibal (2013). His film career includes roles in Casino Royale (2006), where he played James Bond’s adversary Le Chiffre, and in the Oscar-winning Danish black comedy-drama film Another Round (2020). He has also appeared in major franchises, including Doctor Strange and Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.

Joining Mikkelsen at the May convention are American actors Christopher Lloyd and Giancarlo Esposito. Lloyd, an Academy Award nominee, remains best known for his performance as Doc Brown in the Back to the Future trilogy (1985-1990), while Esposito’s resume spans critically acclaimed roles in Breaking Bad (2008-2013), Better Call Saul (2015-2022) and The Mandalorian (2019-2023).
This year’s Comic Con Hong Kong will feature celebrity panels, autograph sessions and a variety of exhibits dedicated to comics, anime, cosplay and film memorabilia. Since its establishment, the convention has grown into a key event in the region’s pop-culture calendar, drawing significant attendance from collectors, artists and fans across Asia.
According to organisers, Mikkelsen’s appearance will include limited autograph sessions, with further details to be announced closer to the event.
