Whether it’s a mafia consigliere making a chaebol power move or a star-crossed couple defying timelines, these cameos aren’t just fun Easter eggs—they’re proof that K-drama creators know exactly what fans love and enjoy keeping them on their toes.

From iconic detectives and supernatural beings to former idols and forgotten ghosts, here are the best K-drama crossovers that had us screaming, “Wait, did that just happen? But what does this mean?”
1. Vicenzo from ‘Vincenzo’ (2021) in ‘Queen of Tears’ (2024)
t was the crossover no one saw coming. Just as tensions in Queen of Tears were rising, in walked Vincenzo Cassano (Song Joong-ki), still exuding mafia-level charisma. The brief but electrifying cameo had fans speculating whether the ruthless consigliere was expanding his empire into chaebol territory. The answer? Yes. He appears as Hong Hae-in’s (Kim Ji-won) divorce lawyer.
Beyond Song Joong-ki’s dramatic elevator entrance, complete with a gust of wind, the dialogue cemented the impact of the cameo. When lawyer Kim Yang-ki (Moon Tae-yu) introduces Vincenzo to Baek Hyun-woo (Kim Soo-hyun), he remarks, “There are many rumours about who he is... the youngest heir of a conglomerate family, a former soldier stationed abroad, someone who came here on a spaceship. Others say he’s a werewolf.” These references cleverly nod to Song’s previous roles in Reborn Rich, Descendants of the Sun, Space Sweepers, and A Werewolf Boy.
Adding to the excitement, Kim Ji-won and Song previously co-starred in Descendants of the Sun and Arthdal Chronicles, while Queen of Tears and Vincenzo share the same director.

2. Do Bong-soon and Ahn Min-hyuk from ‘Strong Girl Bong-soon’ (2017) in ‘Strong Girl Nam-soon’ (2023)
In Strong Girl Bong-soon, Do Bong-soon (Park Bo-young) is a petite yet powerful woman born with superhuman strength. She finds love with gaming CEO Ahn Min-hyuk (Park Hyung-sik), who admires her abilities. Given that Strong Girl Nam-soon follows her long-lost cousin, Kang Nam-soon (Lee Yoo-mi), who shares the same extraordinary trait, a cameo was inevitable.
Fans were thrilled to see Bong-soon and Min-hyuk again, now happily married with a family. Min-hyuk remained as smitten as ever, making their reappearance feel like a reunion with an old favourite.

In Oh My Ghost, timid assistant chef Na Bong-sun (Park Bo-young) becomes possessed by Shin Soon-ae (Kim Seul-gi), a mischievous ghost who never experienced love. Meanwhile, Hi, Bye Mama (2020) follows Cha Yu-ri (Kim Tae-hee), a mother who gets a second chance at life after dying in an accident.
Shin Soon-ae’s unexpected appearance in Hi, Bye Mama was a heart-wrenching crossover, seamlessly connecting two dramas that explore the lingering presence of spirits.
5. Go Hye-mi from ‘Dream High’ (2011) in ‘My Love From The Star’ (2013)
Dream High follows Go Hye-mi (Bae Suzy), an aspiring singer at an elite performing arts school. My Love From The Star (2013) tells the story of an alien (Kim Soo-hyun) who has lived on Earth for 400 years and falls for a top actress (Jun Ji-hyun).
Bae Suzy’s cameo as Hye-mi in My Love From The Star was a delightful nod to her past role and a playful reference to her history with Kim Soo-hyun, who played her love interest in Dream High.
6. Kim Moo-young and Yoo Jin-kang from ‘The Smile Has Left Your Eyes’ (2018) in ‘Abyss’ (2019)
The Smile Has Left Your Eyes is a tragic romance between Kim Moo-young (Seo In-guk), a mysterious man with a hidden past, and Yoo Jin-kang (Jung So-min), who is drawn to him despite her instincts.

Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo follows weightlifting prodigy Kim Bok-joo (Lee Sung-kyung) as she discovers love and self-acceptance. Meanwhile, The Bride of Habaek is a fantasy romance about a water god (Nam Joo-hyuk) adapting to life in the mortal world.
When Bok-joo’s friends appeared in The Bride of Habaek, it was an inside joke between the two dramas—especially since Nam Joo-hyuk starred in both.
9. Bang Dong-gu from ‘Secretly, Greatly’ (2013) in ‘Crash Landing on You’ (2019)
In Secretly, Greatly (2013), Lieutenant Won Ryu-hwan (Kim Soo-hyun) is a North Korean spy posing as a village idiot named Bang Dong-gu. Six years later, Kim reprised the same ridiculous disguise in Crash Landing on You (2019), another drama set in North Korea.
