As the world processes the loss of Nansun Shi, the Infernal Affairs producer and Film Workshop co-founder, her collaborators, friends and admirers are taking to social media to remember the woman known simply as "Big Sister Nansun"
Hong Kong cinema lost one of its powerhouses this week. Nansun Shi — the producer, executive and "Housekeeper" of Cinema City who co-founded Film Workshop with Tsui Hark and helped shepherd Hong Kong films like A Better Tomorrow, Once Upon a Time in China and Infernal Affairs onto the world stage — died on July 13 at Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital, surrounded by family. She was 75.
In the hours since, tributes have flooded in from the people who knew her best. Jackie Chan shared throwback photos on Instagram, writing that the industry had lost another legendary figure.
