Cover On the Wings of Hermès takes place from 19 to 28 July

On the Wings of Hermès is a cinematic performance that honours the maison’s craftsmanship and heritage, taking place from July 19 to 28 at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre

There is no magic quite like that of Hermès. For just ten days in July, you’re invited to step into the maison’s imaginary universe, celebrating its heritage, savoir-faire, and artisans in a lighthearted spirit.

Conceived by Belgian director Jaco Van Dormael and choreographer Michèle Anne De Mey, and realised by the Astragales dance company, On the Wings of Hermès is a spectacle of cinema, music and theatre that pays tribute to oneirsm: a state of abnormal consciousness in which dream-like experiences occur while awake.

So what can attendees expect?

The cinematic presentation comprises seven performances dedicated to Pegasus, the fabled winged horse in Greek mythology. Each of the acts represents one of Pegasus’ foals and features backdrops comprising landscapes and imaginary worlds where poetic figurines and Hermès objects come to life, like graceful puppets moving in a seamless dance, thanks to the collaborative work of dancers, choreographers and image and lighting technicians.

The show’s standouts include a comedic opera performed by the iconic Hermès “Kelly” bags, a mini circus, gloves in flight, and a dance sequence of two lovers swept into the skies. These scenes are captured live by Jaco Van Dormael and projected onto a giant screen.
