The group’s smash summer hit Butter is nominated alongside some of this year’s biggest songs

BTS has earned their second Grammy nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their smash hit Butter. The Recording Academy announced this year’s nominees for the 2022 Grammy Awards on November 23. Last year, the boys were also nominated in the same category for Dynamite—their first English language song.

Other nominees in this year’s category include Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga (I Get a Kick Out of You), Justin Bieber and Benny Blanco (Lonely), Coldplay (Higher Power), and Doja Cat featuring SZA (Kiss Me More).

Although Butter spent 10 weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, the band did not earn nominations for the Record and Song Of The Year categories. The band’s Permission to Dance follow-up single also entered and peaked at No. 1 on the Hot 100, as well as their recently released collaboration with Coldplay, My Universe.

The South Korean boy band were also on hand to take part in the livestream for Grammy nominations as one of the announcers, revealing the nominees for Best Alternative Album.

Earlier this week, the septet became the first Asian group to win the coveted Artist Of The Year prize at the American Music Awards. To cap off a successful week, BTS will kick off the first of their four concerts in Los Angeles—their first tour in almost two years and the first time they’d be performing before a stadium full of their fans, affectionately termed as Army.

The 64th annual Grammy Awards will be held on January 31, 2022, in Los Angeles. See the full list of nominations here.
