From an internationally acclaimed chef returning to the Korean culinary scene and a dedicated restaurant manager determined to restore her late father’s reputation to the star chef of the hottest dining destination in the country and the formidable chairwoman of a powerful F&B conglomerate, Final Table brings together a cast of characters with plenty at stake.

Ahn Hyo-seop as Chris K or Kang Han
At the centre of the K-drama is Chris K (Ahn Hyo-seop), also known as Kang Han, a self-proclaimed culinary wizard who left South Korea as a child and spent 25 years building his reputation overseas. After two years back home, he is now preparing to resume his life in New York. But first, he makes a detour to Famiglia, the restaurant that first sparked his love of food and cooking.
What he finds is a far cry from the place he remembers. Famiglia is practically deserted, its original chef is gone and the food falls well short of his expectations. Disappointed by what has become of the restaurant, Kang Han heads straight into the kitchen and takes matters into his own hands. His impromptu cooking session catches the attention of Choi Song-yi, the daughter of Famiglia’s late chef Choi Seung-hyo, as well as Seon Jeong-won, a producer at Pyeongyeon Media.
But there is more to Kang Han than his formidable culinary skills. Hints of a complicated childhood suggest that he is back in Korea for more than old memories. He also finds himself on a collision course with Cha Woo-jin, the acclaimed chef of the country’s number one restaurant, setting the stage for a rivalry that is as personal as it is professional.

Hong Hwa-yeon as Choi Song-yi
Choi Song-yi (Hong Hwa-yeon) is the young hall manager of Famiglia, a beloved restaurant that has fallen on hard times. After its chef and owner Choi Seung-hyo (Jang Hyun-sung)—Song-yi’s father—cast suspicion on Pyeongyeon Group’s “Plate in Asia”, a restaurant-rating system that is supposedly designed to evaluate and recognise outstanding dining establishments, the conglomerate retaliated by viciously destroying his reputation.
The campaign against Famiglia became so ugly and relentless that it drove diners—and eventually, the kitchen staff—away. The only thing keeping the restaurant from closing is Song-yi’s unwavering devotion to her father’s legacy. When Kang Han walks through Famiglia’s doors, she finds in him an unlikely ally and a head chef who could give them a fighting chance at The Table: K-Chef 2026.

Chang Ryul as Cha Woo-jin
Cha Woo-jin (Chang Ryul) is the self-assured chef of Exception, a posh fine-dining restaurant that’s the talk of the town. He also enjoys close ties to the Pyeongyeon Group, having received their support early in his career and now serving as their F&B creative director.
Armed with prodigious talent and Pyeongyeon Group’s considerable backing, Woo-jin is Chris K’s biggest competitor in The Table: K-Chef 2026. Woo-jin is also determined to beat Chris K, who defeated him in an international cooking competition years earlier. But their rivalry runs deeper than professional jealousy, with Chris K seemingly harbouring a personal grudge against Woo-jin over an incident involving his late father.

Jung Eugene as Seon Jeong-won
Seon Jeong-won (Jung Eugene) is a senior producer at Pyeongyeon Media who comes up with the idea of producing The Table: K-Chef 2026 as a way to repair the conglomerate’s public image following the scandal surrounding Famiglia’s late chef Choi Seung-hyo.
A driven, ambitious producer with a string of hit shows to her name, Jeong-won sets her sights on recruiting Pyeongyeon Group’s star chef, Cha Woo-jin. After tasting Chris K.’s cooking the night he takes over Famiglia’s kitchen, she turns to Song-yi and urges her to enter the competition too, assuring the reluctant restaurateur that her goals go beyond the company’s agenda. Whether that’s true remains to be seen.
Why should you watch ‘Final Table’?

Above ‘Final Table’ not only boasts an impressive cast headlined by Ahn Hyo-seop, it also brings audiences behind the scenes of the competitive culinary world and tells a myriad of stories on how cooking and food can bring healing (Photo: JTBC)
Aside from its stellar cast and tightly woven storytelling, Final Table brings several genres to the table. Culinary and family drama meet romance and mystery, while the cooking competition delivers the high-stakes energy of Culinary Class Wars and food shots worthy of Chef’s Table.
Ahn Hyo-seop, who underwent intensive culinary training for his role as Chris K, is convincing as both an avant-garde chef with elite kitchen skills and a romantic lead. He also brings an intriguing edge to the character’s unresolved past, keeping viewers curious about what truly brought him home.

Final Table also has the makings of a David and Goliath story, with Famiglia, a small family-run restaurant, taking on Pyeongyeon Group, a powerful conglomerate willing to play dirty to protect its interests.
On the surface, Final Table may look like a K-drama about a cooking competition and the pursuit of culinary excellence. But simmering beneath the beautifully plated dishes and fierce kitchen battles is a more touching story about family, legacy, ambition and healing.
As JTBC puts it, the series explores how people can find comfort and mend their wounds through cooking. For viewers who enjoy a little romance and mystery alongside their food drama, Final Table makes a compelling addition to their Ahn Hyo-seop K-drama watchlist.
