As Keala Settle once said in ‘The Greatest Showman’: ‘I'm not scared to be seen / I make no apologies, this is me’—catch her in Manila this July
Celebrating its third anniversary, the Samsung Performing Arts Theatre welcomes Broadway and Hollywood star Keala Settle for a one-night-only concert this July. Aptly titled This Is Me, An Evening with Keala Settle, the show offers an intimate look into her personal story—taking Filipino audiences on a journey of resilience, transformation, identity and vulnerability. While a setlist has yet to be released, guests can expect to hear some of Settle’s iconic songs, such as the titular This Is Me, Imperfect and Harder, among others.

Settle made her Broadway debut in 2011 as Shirley in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. Two years later, she played Norma Valverde in Hands on a Hardbody, which earned her nominations for the Outer Critics Circle, Drama Desk and a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. She would continue to wow audiences with her performances in Les Misérables as Madame Thenardier, Hairspray as Tracy Turnblad and Waitress as Becky, among others. In 2017, Settle played her most iconic role to date—Lettie Lutz in The Greatest Showman alongside Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron and Zendaya.

This Is Me, An Evening with Keala Settle also features an orchestra and Settle will be joined by Jillian Itaas, Jep Go and a special appearance by fellow Broadway star, Arielle Jacobs. Mikko Angeles helms the show as the director, with musical direction handled by Farley Asuncion and choreography by JM Cabling. Audiences can expect a powerful performance of Broadway numbers, original compositions and reimagined pop anthems set behind the backdrop of immersive visuals and vibrant theatrics care of Ohm David, Meliton Roxas and Joyce Garcia.
