Get a glimpse of the Korean diaspora in the recently opened art exhibition in Bonifacio Global City.

The Korean Cultural Centre in the Philippines (KCC) opened the art exhibition “The Beautiful Journey in the World,” showcasing the works of 19 Korean artists currently residing in the Philippines. The exhibition displays 42 art pieces by artists who bring out the profound blend of eastern and western arts as well asa fusion of some elements from the two completely different nations. Joining the roster of Korean artists are Filipino artists Connie Quirino, Yueh Faye Lai, and Jacqueline Lhuillier Hess.

Before the exhibition was formally opened, an Artists Talk was conducted with artists Seung Joo Kang, Connie Quirino, and Carla Kim. According to Kim, the sceneries here in the Philippines influenced her recent paintings. While for Kang, her paintings are often inspired by sculptures. Meanwhile, Quirino proudly attributed her artistic abilities to her grandfather, the late president Elpidio Quirino.

The opening ceremony was graced by Korean Ambassador Kim Jae Shin, KCC Director Oh Choong Suk, Czech Ambassador Jaroslav Olša Jnr., Carla Kim, Cory Quirino, and Kang Seung Joo. The exhibition will run until May 27 at the Korean Cultural Centre Exhibition Hall. Admission is free.
