This novel film opens up a whole new world of creative literary expression by integrating Malaysian Sign Language with poetry

With the support of the British Council under their Connections Through Culture (CTC) programme, the School of English at the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus and MY Poetry School are hosting a virtual event on February 26 to premiere Walls, a poem film by deaf community leader, Anthony Chong, in Malaysian Sign Language with a translation by multimedia poet, Sheena Baharudin.

Behind this film is a team of dedicate artist educators from Malaysia and the UK, who have also spent the last year developing a potential teaching methodology to enhance the education of d/Deaf people in Malaysia with poetry and literature

Following the theme of 'The Poet Is The Poem', the film premiere will be accompanied by poetry readings in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Malaysian Sign Language by students of the School of English, Abby Latif, Shivani Sivagurunathan and Jessica Mak.
