It is not in our ‘kathang-isip’ (imagination) anymore. It’s happening—a musical version of the hit film ‘One More Chance’ featuring the songs of Ben&Ben
The Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) closed its re-run of Walang Aray last October 22 with an announcement that shocked the audiences and left them excited.
The esteemed theatre company is now a few weeks away from opening its collaborative project with Star Magic, the revival of Tabing Ilog the Musical, based on the hit television series from the 2000s. It was first staged in 2020, directed by Topper Fabregas, by the emerging theatrical production arm of ABS-CBN. PETA has already announced another collaboration with the said conglomerate, this time slated for April 2024.

The audience of Walang Aray’s closing performance erupted in cheers after its lead cast members, Gio Gahol and Marynor Madamesila, performed an iconic scene from the blockbuster hit and cult classic One More Chance. Moreover, a parting of the curtains followed and revealed Ben&Ben, the country’s most sought-after and award-winning nine-piece band in today's contemporary music scene, onstage to give a surprise performance of Kathang Isip and Araw-Araw.

In the prime of their youth, the band has maintained a level of cultural relevance that earned its place in the history of contemporary Philippine music. For three years, Ben&Ben has emerged as the most streamed OPM Artist and Group in the Philippines, the first Filipino act to surpass over a billion streams.
One More Chance the Musical follows PETA’s string of successful jukebox musicals, from the phenomenal hit Rak of Aegis, which ran for seven seasons, to the critically acclaimed rap musical Three Stars and a Sun, featuring the music of Francis Magalona.
One More Chance the Musical will run in April 2024 at the PETA Theater Center. For corporate partnerships and show-buying inquiries, contact PETA via petatheater@gmail.com or 0917-539-1112. Follow PETA’s Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages at @petatheater to be updated on the latest news.
