Designer Robbie Santos and brass artist Michael Cacnio collaborate on a special exhibition titled ‘Resplendence’

Art and fashion enter a dialogue of form and texture in Resplendence, an exhibition of sculpture and haute couture. This collaboration brings together the artistry of Michael Cacnio, known for his regal sculptural works, and Robbie Santos, the creative mind behind the fashion label Septième Rebelle. The result is an exhibition that proves the existence of an intersection between tradition and bold experimentation.

At the heart of Resplendence is a celebration of techniques. Cacnio, known for his refined metalwork, integrates fabric into his pieces, creating a blend of materials that emphasises both artists’ distinct eye and craftsmanship.

Septième Rebelle’s textile designs elevate sculpture and wall relief pieces, showcasing a unique interplay of brass forms and structured subjects. The exhibition’s centrepiece, The Majestic, encapsulates this spirit—a work that serves as a reminder of the transformative practice of art.

Using fabric in visual art is not a novel concept, but Resplendence breathes new life into this approach. Cacnio’s techniques merge with Santos’s couture sensibilities, showing how two disciplines can harmonise to produce something extraordinary.
