A milestone is best celebrated in the company of loved ones—and for the former architect, a solo exhibition has always been a personal dream

While many of Lionel Leo's friends knew he was an avid photographer, there were just as many of them who didn’t know how serious he is about the art form. But all of them turned up at the Ion Art gallery in Ion Orchard on a Friday night, at the opening of Leo's first solo photography exhibition, Life Goes On, which was held from May 19 to 28.

Curated by celebrity photographer Russel Wong, who is a dear friend of Leo's, the exhibition featured about 40 photographs taken during Leo’s travels, from Singapore and Hong Kong to Cuba and India, in the past 10 years.

"Whether it’s an expression of the mundane or the spectacular, I’m forever captivated by the unimaginable richness in this wonderful cycle of life,” shared Leo, who loves capturing the beauty of the everyday as a street photographer.

Now that he has launched his first solo exhibition, Leo hopes to fully expand his creative side, with painting next—and we are sure his friends and family will be right by his side supporting his next artistic endeavour.
